Re: Rutgers Newark
So did anyone attend today? I did, I was the "black guy" lol. I thought it was good, I thought the Constitutional Law class was pretty interesting. RU is my number 1 choice, but I am still undecided.

Haha, at first I was like, "The black guy? Professor Bell posts on here!?" (Seemed like a really knowledgeable and interesting prof to have). I'd say I was the white guy, but I think white guy with glasses in a bright red long sleeve T shirt is a bit more specific.Bigbub75 wrote:So did anyone attend today? I did, I was the "black guy" lol. For anyone that visited today, did they offer in state tuition to any one that signed a lease in NJ before a certain date?

YUP..Sign a 12 month lease and get in-state tuition. Not sure if it has to be by a specific date or not.

There's no specific cutoff, though it's easiest if done by July 31. After that the Dean has to do some juggling with your term bill and it's a bit of a hassle.Bigbub75 wrote:dakatz wrote:Haha, at first I was like, "The black guy? Professor Bell posts on here!?" is anyone 95% positive theyre going, i think we should start a Rutgers 2013 in the Class of 2013 thread so people can find us easier. I'm not the best group leader though, so someone else do it.

Good idea, maybe a Facebook group too? I'm close to 90% just waiting for UConn to get back to me.inSouthAmerica wrote:is anyone 95% positive theyre going, i think we should start a Rutgers 2013 in the Class of 2013 thread so people can find us easier. I'm 90 percent sure, just waiting for a few long shots. But even if I got into them I probably still will attend Rutgers for financial reasons. But I'm a part-timer! A FT student should lead the way...

IN today via e-mail with $6,000 a year!! I'm in state so that is quite the bargain... just have to maintain a 3.0 GPA. So excited to get my first acceptance from a top 100 school!!

Re: Rutgers Newark
I suppose this thread is as good a place as any to post this. I'm a 1LE (night student) at R-N. I found out that several of my part-time classmates were missing this semester b/c they'd switched to full-time. So anyone thinking about going PT at another school, then switching to FT after the first year, at R-N you can switch after one semester. HTH.

Re: Rutgers Newark
Hey you bunch of babies. I started a thread for your class.
If I can wipe any of your noses or help you cross the street just let me know!
Joking
Congrats on all the recent acceptances!
Did anyone visit the school last week?
I assume if you did, and you didn't get shot or stabbed you enjoyed your visit.
If you have anything you would like to ask or share put it in your new Rutgers-Newark c/o 2013 thread
Your friend,

I've been at the school since August. The only building you will ever know is the law school building. I couldn't tell you where any other place on the campus is. But, it's not a huge campus you can figure it out. The gym is at the end of the block where the law school is right by the parking deck. It's a gym.baboon309 wrote:How come they didn't show us around the campus? I wanted to see gym/pools/dorms and all those stuffs
They actually do a better tour and a trip around the school and Newark during orientation before school. You didn't miss out. You don't want to see the dorms. If you have to live in the dorms, it's probably better to be surprised

For those that got in, (or were rejected/waitlisted) did you notice a change on your online status? or did it just say file complete.

In my case the status changed after I was admitted via email.Aloha4 wrote:For those that got in, (or were rejected/waitlisted) did you notice a change on your online status? or did it just say file complete.

When's a good time next month to come up and visit the school?

If you want to come on your own just call the admissions office and they'll schedule a day for youNJ914 wrote:When's a good time next month to come up and visit the school?
If there's a day they have blocked off for admitted students/prospective student's they'll tell you about it.
But, feel free to come by whenever you want really. Just let someone in admission know you're coming so they can give you a proper tour and let you see some 1L classes. There's only two 1L classes this semester. One before lunch and one after so they'll want to schedule your visit around that.
There are no breaks that I know of in Feb.

Status checker just changed to "decision rendered", but I did not receive an email, does this mean rejection is imminent?

Re: Rutgers Newark
If I recall correctly, "decision rendered" is for both acceptance and rejection. The email should come shortly, though.Onion wrote:Status checker just changed to "decision rendered", but I did not receive an email, does this mean rejection is imminent?

Didn't get my email until about 45 minutes after I noticed my status checker changed to decision rendered. I wouldn't worry about it.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
