Two of the guys I know from Kaplan classes got in w/ test scores a bit lower than mine but w/ higher GPAs. They're both good dudes so MN is lucky to have 'em...

For those of you who got in, did you status checker change before/after? If so, what'd it say?

Waitlisted via status checker.

Yes, far and away. I applied ED as such.kpd-m wrote:

I'm shellshocked right now, to be honest. I feel the same exact way I did when I got my second lsat score and it was 1 point lower than my first and 4 points below where I was averaging in practice.
Now it's time to get those apps going elsewhere!

For those other ED'ers that got in, what does your online status say now?

Sorry, Slimpee. You're right, though, that it's a big difference between WL and rejection. Good luck w/your LOCI, and good luck with your other apps.

Minnesota provided my first official rejection. I love that in their rejection email they give you the deadlines for transfer applications next year in case you want to try again. They even said the rejection email would count as my fee waiver next year if I want to apply as a transfer. They definitely try and make you feel better.

Thanks my friend. No worries. I'm sure they are only my first rejection because Georgetown uses snail mail.Unadilla Kayaker wrote:Sorry to hear that. Likewise, "Decision Letter Sent, 12/01; Decision Made, 12/01."lawgunner75 wrote:For those other ED'ers that got in, what does your online status say now?
To Slimpee - at least they didn't stick by their "(accept/deny)"-only options for ED, as described in the website (whereas EA can get you an accept/deny/WL, they say...this came up earlier in the board, I think).

Yeah. I'd rather be W/L than rejected outright. I wonder how many EDs they WLed...RahmE wrote: To Slimpee - at least they didn't stick by their "(accept/deny)"-only options for ED, as described in the website (whereas EA can get you an accept/deny/WL, they say...this came up earlier in the board, I think).
In the end my numbers just weren't high enough for an admit. Stupid games singlehandidly destroyed my test both times I took it (missed double-digits both times)...

Are you planning on waiting it out? I know you said you were applying to other schools, but would you potentially stay on the waitlist through the summer to go? If so, I hope it all works out for you Slimpee!Slimpee wrote:Yeah. I'd rather be W/L than rejected outright. I know this is a horrible question to those who were rejected, but what does you status checker say?

Re: Minnesota 2010!
for people that have gotten a decision of some sort:
does the app status go from "waiting for review" to "In review" before you get some decision or is "waiting for review" the U's method of saying you're under review?
edit:edited to clarify question

Re: Minnesota 2010!
At this point the U of MN is still my #1 choice and i'm not going down without a fight. I will be applying to other schools, however, and if I fall in love w/ one of them, well, I guess i'll be glad I was waitlisted instead of accepted!kpd-m wrote: Are you planning on waiting it out? Status date just changed to today, but still says "In Review." Did we decide this doesn't mean anything?

I think it means they're officially moving on to the RD applicants from the ED applicants. And I would say that is something, especially since RD decisions will no doubt start going out in the near future. That would be nice. My status has changed several times, so I'm not counting on an immediate deluge of phonecalls. But it would be EXCITING if a 612 number appeared on our cells today.....tamlyric wrote:I think it means they're officially moving on to the RD applicants from the ED applicants. Really Kpd? Mine has been the same since it went "In Review" back in early November. What kinds of changes has yours gone through and approximately when did it go through them? (So fun to figure these things out. Even if there's nothing to figure out.kpd-m wrote:That would be nice.
