You are awesome! Congrats!azukibeanlove wrote:Hey everyone,
My numbers are 3.9/158 - not an impressive LSAT score, but got into UC Hastings on Jan. 7th (yes, I'm that person on LSN). I remember someone telling me to not bother with Hastings or Davis with my score, but I applied anyway - I have nothing to lose, right? I applied to Hastings' LEOP, but I got in through first cycle without LEOP, meaning that LSAT SCORE ISN'T EVERYTHING, AND GPA DOES COUNT. So to all my fellow reverse splitters - have faith!! Our hard work will pay off
Good luck to everyone's cycles!

Minnesota is very splitter friendly this year. I'd even venture to say that they're willing to look to soft factors for some candidates who otherwise wouldn't be competitive. That's the only explanation for my luck there.actingchick25 wrote:3.97/161, In at the University of MN!

Glad that I finally found a home here.

Best of luck to all of you reverse splitters! I was sort of in your position last year until I raised my score a bit. Still, keep fighting the good fight, attaining an elite GPA is a ton of work.

UVA is famous for rewarding applicants with 3.85+ applicants that apply ED. They're not exactly known to be quite as generous with RD applicants (unless of course your LSAT is baller), but I'm pulling for you.law_lover wrote:That gives me a little hope. If you're serious about attending UVA (i.e. you truly know that it's your number-one choice), I would switch to ED RIGHT NOW.law_lover wrote:Maybe I should switch to ED.ViP wrote:UVA is famous for rewarding applicants with 3.85+ applicants that apply ED. Thanks. I think I am doing it. Worst case scenario I get rejected early (at least I know I'll have a decision within 15 days). If I am waitlisted I am no longer bound to them, correct?

So as not to give anyone false hopes, I do think that I have several important soft factors that distinguish me from the run-of-the-mill college senior applying to law school. PM me if you are interested and good luck to everyone!law_lover wrote:Put my UVA ED form in the mail.

Everyone in here has such an awesome GPA! Am I the only one having recurring fantasies of taking a year of, retake the LSAT, raise it 3-4 pts higher and scoring full-rides at my target schools?

Re: Reverse-Splitters Unite! - The 2010 Reverse-Splitter Thread
Wow, there are quite a few reverse-splitters in this thread. I was in your spot last year and, after 7 WLs and multiple rejections, let me tell you that most law schools don't take too kindly to applicants like us. It's great, though, to see how many of you have had good cycles so far. Keep it up!
Also, for those of you who have applied to UVA, do not depend on their WL. Feel free to take a look at my LSN page, but I ended up applying there last year and endured months of waiting around on their WL, visiting, sending in LOCIs, etc. That's not to say reverse-splitters never get in there (they obviously do, just based on TLS alone), but getting in off their WL is almost impossible. I mean, miracles happen, but I wouldn't put too much stock in a UVA WL - it's definitely worthwhile to express your continued interest, but most applicants would be better off looking at it as a soft reject. I wish I had a little sooner.
