Looking at LSN, it doesn't appear that many splitters apply ED. I can't even find one. NU seems to waitlist all RD splitters then take them as needed to game their numbers. I wonder if someone with our numbers(I'm 2.8 176) will be scooped up via ED to assume we go there, or will they wait list us like everyone else?NayBoer wrote:Okay, looked at some numbers. On LSN the ED acceptances in '05, '07 and '08 came on December 14th, 11th and 18th. So there's anywhere from a week to three weeks until the ED acceptances are out.
LSN has no ED acceptances for '03, '04, and '06, and only two acceptances for each of the other three years. So not a great sample size. But in all three years the two ED acceptances each year both found out the same day.
In 2008-2009 it went: ED accepts in mid-Dec, then ED rejects in late Dec, then RD accepts in Jan. In 2007-2008 it went: ED accepts in early Dec, then ED rejects and RD accepts concurrently in mid-Dec.
It's freaking me out a little that I'll know the answer in a couple weeks.
- If somebody has an ED accept and I don't, I'm probably out.
- If somebody has an RD accept and I'm not in, I'm probably about to hear that I'm out.
- If Christmas comes and I'm not accepted, I'm probably out.
Of course, other than out I could also be deferred to RD or WL. And they could always change up their pattern in a million different ways. But going by the last two years, by Christmas I'll either know that I'm in or know that I'm not. Kind of ruins the holiday if it's not good news. Or totally energizes the holiday if it is good news.

I saw your post but I didn't really know what to suggest.ColumbiaGirl1984 wrote:wow, why is this board so dead?? no love for NU?ColumbiaGirl1984 wrote:OK i have a question for everyone. I submitted my application a week ago and according to LSAC.org, they still haven't even requested my law school report!! did anyone else have this happen?
For all my other schools, they requested it like the next day, why is it still not requested by NU? NU still appears in my "active schools" list.
I just noticed that now because like a nerd I decided I am going to apply to more schools tonight on a Saturday night...
is it because i still haven't had my interview (which will occur next weekend?)
Some time between now and next Monday call the school. I applied in early Oct and they requested it the same day.

NU ED info seems to be thin on the ground at LSN. But 08-09 had wildcatorbust 171/3.17 admitted and 05-06 had throwdini 171/2.95 admitted. Otherwise, they admitted two reverse splitters in 06-07 and one URM each for 05-06 and 08-09. Only two 170+ reported ED apps, both got in.Desert Fox wrote:Looking at LSN, it doesn't appear that many splitters apply ED. I can't even find one. But yeah, waitlist seems to be the normal routine for >170/<3 applicants. I'm most likely to be WL or maybe defer -> WL.

My sense from a quick glance at hourumd is that you have pretty good chances. Basically twins with wildcatorbust, 171/3.17 also ED. Guess it hinges on whether they like your WE.YellowCake wrote:I'm ED too, just haven't put it on my LSN profile. 171/3.2

Waiting for the Northwestern ED decisions has, despite my best efforts, raised my blood pressure and aged me ten years. Bah!

for those of you who applied to NU once you completed your LSAC application how long did it take for NU to receive your app? I applied to NU over 10 days ago and my LSAC status is still at "transmitted".

I submitted my app -- and completed my interview -- about a month ago. No status checker yet; should I be concerned?

Re: Northwestern 2010
After submitting my app online on 11/19 and interviewing on campus on 11/20, I heard nothing from Northwestern. Nada. After about 2 weeks, I called to confirm that they had received my app. They told me to look at my status checker on their website, which I had never received info for. I was told they would "look into it" and to call back a few days later. Eventually, after like 5 phone calls to the admissions office, I was told that they had been having issues sending out their initial "we've received your app" emails, and it was primarily with people whose last name's start with K. Which mine does. Sounds very weird to me. They said they are using a new system this year or something like that. They resent my initial email, I got an applicant ID, and my status checker now says I'm complete as of 11/19, which is the day I submitted, and 1 day before my interview. All in all, kind of confusing.
My advice? Call them and see what the heck is going on. Perhaps your last name starts with K? Or perhaps they'll you that they've only been having problems with your respective last name letter?

Cool, thank you. If I don't hear anything else in a few weeks I'll start bothering 'em. I know they take a while; for some reason, I'm not feeling stressed. Yet.

Probably because they haven't done anything yet. My interview was 2-3 weeks ago as well, and I'm still at interview pending for completion. They might not be expedient until they start seriously looking at apps or something.Tangerine Gleam wrote:Cool, thank you. If I don't hear anything else in a few weeks I'll start bothering 'em. What does your LSAC status say for the NU app (under Active Applications)? Mine was transmitted over a week ago and has yet to be "requested" by NU (at least that's what two different LSAC reps told me).Tangerine Gleam wrote:Cool, thank you. I actually didn't get a status checker email either until I went on the status checker website, entered my last name, SSN and email address to have them email me my applicant ID.Tangerine Gleam wrote:Cool, thank you. After getting that email, I was able to successfully log in to check my application status, which after my interview last Thursday, is now listed as "complete."

So here's a question: Does anyone have anything *other* than:akapur wrote:After getting that email, I was able to successfully log in to check my application status, which after my interview last Thursday, is now listed as "complete."
"Your application was received on XX/XX/2009 and is complete as of XX/XX/2009."
I.e., no "under review" or anything like that?

That's what mine says. I believe so. I think it also states on their website that candidates will only get notification through email.

my "complete" date updated this week from my mid-Nov interview date to 12/09/09. So I guess I'm under review now? nervous!

Re: Northwestern 2010
Ok ED people. Tue Dec-11 was the date in 2007 that they made ED admits. Thu Dec-18 was the date they did it in 2008. And Wed Dec-14 was the date they did it in 2005. If history is any judge, we're likely to get ED word in the next week or so.
[Edited for boneheaded calendar fail]
For RD folks, in 2008 they didn't send out decisions until Jan, after ED rejections. In 2007 they sent out RD acceptances more or less concurrent with ED rejections around Dec-18. So you could be around the corner or 5 weeks away.
Do you think they'll wait for your Dec score?

It's possible this is due to them including your interview in your file. My file went complete a few business days after I applied. I interviewed shortly therafter, but the complete date was the day before my interview. Some time later (maybe the next week?) they updated my complete date to two days after my interview. I haven't been updated since that happened in mid October, and I'm ED. It's possible that this is what happened in your case.elliefont wrote:my "complete" date updated this week from my mid-Nov interview date to 12/09/09. So I guess I'm under review now? nervous!

Re: Northwestern 2010
pre-interview it said "your file will be complete pending the interview" and then the day after my interview, I went "complete." This was the middle of November. Then this week, it updated. hmmmmm. Not sure if they'll wait for the December score. Since I'm RD, I wasn't expecting to hear anything before January anyway, so I just assumed they'd have it when they actually made the decision.NayBoer wrote:It's possible this is due to them including your interview in your file.
