Re: Northwestern c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
i have my off campus interview on Friday, and am trying to learn more about the school. However, I realized I think I already explored most of the available info on their website before I applied. What about Northwestern do you guys like? What makes it unique? The website doesn't seem to have much information...
I do plan on asking my interviewer about what he likes about NU, but would like to know some more beforehand.

Has anyone done an on-campus interview? How did it go?

I did an on-campus interview. First, I loved every part of it! I met with a 2L, and I think that seems to be the case for some on-campus interviews, meeting with current students. I tried to prepare by reading various interviews and questions that have been asked. One scary question I thought they were going to ask was, "What is one reason not to go to NU Law?"
Fortunately, it went in a totally different direction for me. IDK why, it could be because of my resume, but the 2L would only ask about my leadership experience and how I handle various situations in filling the role of a leader at XYZ. She never deviated off the topic of leadership for me, but for the final obvious question, Why NU?

Are ED candidates admitted solely on the basis of merit, or does NW ever admit ED candidates on other factors?

When do they traditionally send out interview invites?

I dont think NU extends interviews to candidates. They have a optional voluntary interview process where you pick a date and method. Idk if this is the ONLY option. Ut I do tend to thibk that it is.SweetTort wrote:When do they traditionally send out interview invites?

I chose the online interview option on my app. Will they just email me a time and date when they're ready?btruj777 wrote:I dont think NU extends interviews to candidates. Re: Northwestern c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
So I emailed my assigned interviewer on Monday and haven't heard back. I figured I'd give it a week and email again this coming Monday. Anyone else have issues getting in contact with their interviewer?

I e-mailed by assigned off-campus interview on Monday, too, and hadn't heard back, so I sent another e-mail yesterday. She responded right away, apologizing, because she has a big deadline coming up and was very busy. She didn't seem annoyed that I reached out again, though, so don't worry about e-mailing a second time!pirate101 wrote:So I emailed my assigned interviewer on Monday and haven't heard back. Has anyone had an off-campus interview and want to give some advice about what to expect? I'm meeting with an attorney who I'm assuming is an alumnus.

I had my off campus interview this week, I think they all vary so much that you can't really give much advice. it depends on who you're meeting with.

I am almost ready for my online interview, but I'm having so much trouble coming up with some teamwork-related answers. or, another way to put it, is that I can't even think of any teams I've been on! Think I can just talk about difficult clients? I suppose we are like a "team", because we are working together towards a common goal. Sounds dumb? anyone?

Re: Northwestern c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
Questions I received on my interview. Why NU? What do I want to be known for? What motivates me to get out of bed in the morning? When teammates are not agreeing, what do you do to facilitate understanding? What is a time when someone said I displayed good judgement, what was it and what was my thought process to reach that decision? forgot the last one...I'll update if I can remember it

Was this a video interview or in person?dietcoke1 wrote:Questions I received on my interview. Why NU? What do I want to be known for? What motivates me to get out of bed in the morning? Does anyone know if off-campus interviewers are using a question bank similar to the video interviews? Or are they generally more conversational? I have an off-campus interview with an alumnus coming up and I'm wondering what to expect.
