Mine changed but I don't think it means anything. I mean I don't expect the Dist. Scholar but I still don't think that small change is indicative of anything.mm2368 wrote:not sure it's a bad sign for you; I didn't apply to the program and I still have that message.ashrice13 wrote:My status check message has changed. Above my info it used to say something about "if you applied via distinguished scholar program you'll hear back by 12/21..." and now it doesn't. It just says if you apply by feb you'll hear by April. For some reason I have a bad Feeling that this means they picked the distinguished scholar people and I'm not one of them.
Anyone else have this change?

I can confirm that this has nothing to do with dist scholly, because mine has made this change and I did not apply for it.
To the extent that it indicates anything regarding admissions generally, I'm glad to be in your company - if I recall correctly, you and ashrice have great numbers?
I'm sure it means nothing at all, but it is somewhat interesting that only some have changed. Probably just has to do with the time that applicantions went complete or something.

Yeah...it's is interesting. BU doesn't have UR dates on their status checker so maybe this is some version of that? Ugh. I'm too type A and impatient for this stuff haha.vcap180 wrote:Long shot hero wrote:Mine changed but I don't think it means anything. I mean I don't expect the Dist. I think your UR thought actually makes a lot of sense, did you apply fairly early?

Re: Boston University C/O 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
I submitted on 11/3 so not too long ago but being an ED applicant, I'm sure I've been/are currently UR. Maybe this is a UR1/UR2+ kind of thing...or a decision was rendered and I'll hear soon or something. I don't know. I'm guessing at stuff I can't possibly know. Any change without the phone call is going to make me nervousvcap180 wrote:I can totally relate. The waiting game is the worst.ashrice13 wrote:Yeah...it's is interesting. Funny story - I got a call from a 617 number yesterday but couldn't answer or listen to the voicemail because I was at work. I also had a new email from a person @ admission and all I could read was "You're in!" So, naturally, I freak out. I check my voicemail/email at lunch - both from Northeastern.

C/o 2019- 11/23 (this was an acceptance)...first person who got pushed to RD was 12/10.
Make if this what you will. I will commence over analyzing now

I'll go ahead and predict they'll use the weekend and we'll start hearing back on Monday the 12th

On the application, it says to fill out all experiences, including both paid and unpaid, full-time or part-time, etc. Do we actually have to note whether each position is paid, unpaid, etc., or is just writing all experiences down without those details sufficient? Thank you!

I might be mixing up my applications but I think it asked how many hours a week you worked (which would cover the part vs. full time thing). If not, I have all that information specified elsewhere in my app and on my resume so I know I didn't specify outside of answering the questions they specifically askedstudyingeveryday wrote:On the application, it says to fill out all experiences, including both paid and unpaid, full-time or part-time, etc. Do we actually have to note whether each position is paid, unpaid, etc., or is just writing all experiences down without those details sufficient? I didn't...I also applied ED though. I don't think you really need to...I would probably only do it if I was afraid of YP and BU was my ultimate first choicestudyingeveryday wrote:Also, did you guys write Why Boston U essays?

Interesting. I'd be really happy if I heard back that early, but I submitted a little later, so currently planning on waiting all the way to Dec 21 if need be.Dodocogon wrote:The 9th is two weeks away todayashrice13 wrote:For all other obsessive people who want to overthink things...I checked out the last few years of applicant threads to see when ED acceptances/denials came through...

I'm not sure if when you submitted matters...they only admit a few people so I would imagine they review every application before confirming any ED acceptances. this is all speculation of course but I'd guess that you'd hear back just as early as someone who submitted the first day.BACsop wrote:Interesting. I'm wondering if this message appears after going UR or something.vcap180 wrote:Does basically everyone have this update at this point, or do some of you still have the old message????ashrice13 wrote:My status check message has changed.
