I feel you! I'm getting some great offers, but I'm waitlisted at the school that makes the most sense for me. I'm from Massachusetts, I've recieved offers from schools in California and Florida but I'm not sure if I'm ready to move across the country for many reasons one being that I really want to practice here. If I don't get in anywhere around here then I'll have no choice but take a year off and retaking the LSAT in October and reapplying.Navyhornguy wrote:I feel you! I have called both schools that have me Waitlisted and they gave me the "there is no way to tell what is going to happen" speech. I'm planning on sending in my LOCI in a few days. Fingers crossed.

I think that should be our waitlist mantra. It's not a rejection, and I'm digging deep to stay positive! But getting a T14 acceptance last week boosted my mood a bit. It's been a lot of ups and downs.capricasixx wrote:I would say getting rejected at your top school would be worseItwasalladream1 wrote:Ride or die on this waitlist. anyone else having trouble with LOCIs? Its not that I'm not interested (definitely am), but I think I'm suffering from essay fatigue and trying to think of what else to say that I didn't already say in my application...

I think it's important to dig up something new and focus on it, otherwise they might roll their eyes. That said... maybe they don't remember what was in your original application, and this can jog their memory. I could send you a copy of mine, if you wanted (not sure that it's 'good,' but it's an idea).zozo1717 wrote:anyone else having trouble with LOCIs? Just express why the school is your top choice (programs, specialties, location, etc) and emphasize your commitment to the program. It doesn't have to be wordy or lengthy. In fact, a concise, well-written letter can be most effective.zozo1717 wrote:anyone else having trouble with LOCIs? I just spent some time on their site and identified a bunch of clinics and upper division courses that were interesting to me and that went along with the interests I spoke to in my PS.

Re: Waitlist Oasis c/o 2019
Just recieved my third waitlist, as soon as I went into the app checker there was that lengthy paragraph stating the info about waitlist. This school does not release its decisions online if accepted or denied it will say "decision letter mailed". I got on the phone and called the director of admissions and we had a pretty long conversation and he asked me to send him my LOCI and acceptance letters from other schools. He also said that they start taking from the waitlist in May. Now he told me that he already put my name on the waitlist so I don't need to call them when I receive the waitlist letter. Few hours later I send him my LOCI and acceptance letters. Now this is a few hours after that and I went back into app checker to re read that paragraph and it's not there anymore and all it says is decision letter mailed.... What does this mean???

If you haven't already sent, I would be very cautious with including mention of the higher acceptances at this point. As someone else mentioned, this could lead them to think you'll go elsewhere regardless of what else you say. Remember, even though you're sincere in wanting to attend the school you've ben WL'd at, many others are not and just want a higher acceptance rate for their ego. Admission officers are wary of this.Navyhornguy wrote:I'm definitely not a YP. You're likely on their radar. What will happen when/if they go to their WL is they will contact you to ask if still interested. If so, they might tell you you have to submit deposits immediately. At that point you might be able to negotiate a bit but unless you help their numbers, most places don't give money off the WL.

I haven't sent the letter yet. I go back and forth on it. I would most likely present it as "I do have other options at peer schools (some even higher ranked), but ultimately I want to be at your school."bwh8813 wrote:If you haven't already sent, I would be very cautious with including mention of the higher acceptances at this point. When I spoke to someone in admissions a while back, he even alluded to the students who write heartfelt LOCIs and then ultimately snub the school when they get accepted. Sadly, he said that while I had a really well-written letter, he has a hard time believing that I'm being sincere because of these other students. So, I definitely understand what you're saying and how it could be perceived to bring up other acceptance offers. We'll see if I can find a respectful way to word it.

On five now, I think. I've got a 100k scholarship from a lower ranked school, but I'd love to go to my number one. Getting nervous about money, though.

Did you get what you wanted? I got WL literally a couple days after the February deadline and it hadn't occurred to me that I would need a retake. I'm sure we'll see some WL movement in here after February scores are considered. May the WL odds be in everyone's favors!BDMPKT wrote:New LSAT score might let me leave the island...hope y'all are having the same luck!

As I high scorer I want all of you to do well, but if the 170+ numbers keep increasing the way they have been for the past few tests I might be SOL. So everyone on here should do good, and everyone else should get 155s.Navyhornguy wrote:Did you get what you wanted? Currently on 3 with at least a 4th coming any day now. I wrote Why Xs for all 4 schools so I've got a lot of research to do to find something substantive that I haven't talked about already.

Does anyone have any insight into supplying additional materials paired with a LOCI? I definitely want to add a diversity statement, as well as a graded essay from an undergraduate ConLaw class, as I want to highlight my interest in ConLaw in law school.
Thanks and good luck to all!

I included a copy of the citation of an award that I got from the Navy in January with my last LOCI. I explained it in the letter so it seemed appropriate.amd3_3 wrote:Does anyone have any insight into supplying additional materials paired with a LOCI?
