If you submitted in October and haven't gotten a complete date, you should contact them or at least check your LSAC stuff. Maybe you are waiting for Dec LSAT scores? Or are scheduled for Feb? I haven't really heard of anybody not going complete fairly quickly. Mostly, it's going complete and nothing changing for forever.
My status checker shows that my app is complete without a current status date. Is that normal?

I'm complete with no date too. Super frustrating. Let me know if you find anything out!

From submission to admission I never received a complete date, if that helps :)
It actually does

I'm the same way since November. I hope that we get decisions soon.

For those who received their packet in the mail... what came with it? Mine looks like it was open. I received 3 sheets of paper in what looks like a folder that holds some thick brochures and a pamphlet (both of which i never got). I have my acceptance letter, financial aid sheet, and a paper about cost of living. Wrapped up in some giant thing that doesnt hold anything else. .........

Should I email BU?

At least my scholarship is much more than I expected. Very happy

It was a giant book/magazine for "making the case" for Boston University. It was worth looking at, maybe ask them to send you another?

Lucky you, and congrats, on the $$. My page said they wouldn't have my financial aid package until January.

Were you rolled from ED? If so, they're probably following the same model as last year giving ED applicants scholarship info first. (I'm really hoping my package is at home, I'm on the road until tonight.)

I was rolled ED. Sent them an email asking if there were missing docs and to let them know I am visiting the campus this weekend (xmas with the extended family nearby)

Graduated undergrad from BU last May, feel free to ask me any questions about campus, the school's 'culture', cost of living, etc. and best of luck!

How far of a commute is it from those places?

1L here popping in during a study break.

Living with a roommate is the best possible situation. If you want to live alone, you can but it will be significantly more expensive than living with someone. Living with someone you can get an apartment in allston/brighton or even fenway for ~$900 or less/month, for comparison I live in a one bedroom for ~$1800/month. Once the FB group for admits starts in Spring, its not too hard to find roommates if you want one. Keep in mind the posted COA is based $900/month in rent. (I'm pretty sure that's the number they told us.)

As far as commute time, you can walk from Fenway to BU in under 15 min. T from allston/brighton takes the same time depending on the green line timeliness which is always iffy.

How much would it cost to ride public transportation every day? I remember in Tokyo there are monthly deals between certain stations that are a flat rate (ex, 200/month for X station to Y station).
It's $67.50 a month for students, you have to put it on your student bill to get that discount.

Are there any "must see" things on the campus? I will be with family visiting tomorrow at some point.

The apartment in the area make me cry inside due to price/size/condition. The south can spoil you.

nothing really must see. The campus as a whole is very pretty. Obviously check out the law building but it's probably locked up so you may not be able to go inside. its a very narrow and long campus that kinda just runs along the Charles

Amen to apartment living though. Paying 3-4 times as much as I did in the south for 1/4 the size

Hmmm, I was under the impression that financial aid would come with admit packets. I guess not :(

Are you former ED? I think those are the only people who get offers in the packets, but I could be wrong.
(Side note, when were you admitted? I'm >2 weeks with no packet. :( )
No, Im RD and always have been. I was admitted the 17th and got it in the mail yesterday. I always live in an urban area, so if you live in a rural area that could explain the delay? School mail would delay it too

Nah, I'm suburban but not rural, and they have my house address, not school. I'll try to figure it out if I still haven't heard after the holidays. Thanks!
Spoke too soon! Got it tonight, and a much more generous scholly offer than I was expecting with my numbers! :D
Ah, please tell me you're ED. I don't understand why some RDs would get fin aid number but not others.

For current BU students, or anyone who might have insight, is it unrealistic to commute during law school? I have family who live about a 35-45 minute drive from BU and I'd be willing to commute given the savings. What would the drawbacks be?

Thank you in advance!

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
