And UNC drops 4. I know the rankings shouldn't matter but it does show they truly are equivalent schools for the NC market.EasttoWest94 wrote:Wake Forest up 7 spots in law school rankings. Get it, Wake. That's a huge jump.

Lol these rankings don't mean anything,at all. Wait until the employment data comes out and then see if they're both equivalent schools for the NC market.carolinalawyer007 wrote:And UNC drops 4. Re: Wake Forest C/O 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
UNC was in a six way tie for 34th in the last rankings and Wake had dropped like 15 places to get to 47th from some really poor outlier bar passage results as I understand it. Just nice that Wake has mostly readjusted to its former status.carolinalawyer007 wrote:And UNC drops 4. On the 2015 Standard 509 75 of 100 Wake people passed the Feb/July 2014 bar (78%) and only 75% passed the year before. For UNC the number was 142 of 161 (88%) with 81% the year before. US News only counts the state with the most people taking the test for each school, so UNC did better and had a larger pool to dilute the results. I imagine for the 2015 test and these rankings this gap probably closed significantly.
Wake and UNCs rankings dont matter at all to NC employers, they'll recruit at both and view them generally equally. If you look at Wake's Law School Transparency report they alternate between years of numbers essentially identical numbers to UNC and then years a decent clip lower, while UNC stays very steady by comparison. For someone in state I'm not sure that particularly matters because I think the variability outside of this bar passage thing is usually from the success or failure OOS students. For what it's worth I have full rides at both and while they are essentially equals, I believe and have heard plenty of times UNC comes out ahead if costs are the same.
5 of 7 Supreme Court justices in the state from UNC is just a random anecdote that could matter very little to any individual applicant, but I think is indicative of how much larger the alumni base is in the state. But still, yea, might as well be considered equals other than soft factors like that. Idk if I would pay much more at all to go to UNC over Wake.
Wake's facilities are sweet though - that new lobby area is very nice and I was impressed with the entire building.

I spoke with someone at Wake about it. They're going to try and do it after the first seat deposit to make sure only ppl who are really serious about Wake are on it/

Scholarship raised via status checker. No email yet. Generous raise but didn't exceed my other offers. Still strongly considering because now Wake and UNC costs the exact same for me.

anyone received an email stating something along the line "decisions may be delayed for files that are selected for additional review..."??
Would it be wise to send in a LOCI?

saw today in my status checker that an admissions deposit and tuition deposit showed up. Anyone have any luck with this being a 'sign' of admission by any chance?

Mine have been there since the day I first applied back in November. I don't think it's a sign, at least for me.sucreroux wrote:saw today in my status checker that an admissions deposit and tuition deposit showed up. Anyone have any luck with this being a 'sign' of admission by any chance?

I think they usually leave it up to the students to run it.soccerchick wrote:Wondering if the administration does it?ashleyh wrote:So did anyone ever make that accepted students Facebook page?

Is WF anyones top choice? And, if I may, why?
I'm pretty interested - just wondering what others are thinking.

TLSers~
All scholarship reconsideration requests should have a response by 4pm today. Check your spam folders and then call if you don't find a response. Most of them have already gone out.
Best,

Been under review since January and my other schools deposit date is April 1st. Will I have a decision by that date?

I emailed them asking the same thing. Their response was basically to put a deposit down somewhere else as insurance if I have not heard from them. They also told me all decisions should be out by May 1st.. Which is crazy to me. Pretty far out.tarheel123 wrote:Been under review since January and my other schools deposit date is April 1st. WF was not my first choice initially, but it has become my first choice.leetrevinofistpump wrote:Is WF anyones top choice? And, if I may, why?
I'm pretty interested - just wondering what others are thinking.
Other than having a very respectable reputation, the facilities are top notch, and they have made me feel like a person instead of a application during the process. I value that a lot. Additionally, I'm starting to see the small class size that Wake offers as a private institution as a major asset. The next three years are going to be a lot of work, and I think Wake has many qualities conducive to doing well (small classes, individualized attention, nice facilities).

I'm thinking along the same lines. They had my curiosity but now they have my attention. My only concern is employment. I'm not committed to NC but we'll see.EasttoWest94 wrote:WF was not my first choice initially, but it has become my first choice.leetrevinofistpump wrote:Is WF anyones top choice? And, if I may, why?

They are if you land on the right adcomm's desk. Pretty sure I applied on a Friday and got accepted on the following Tuesday.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
