kind of creeps me out now that you guys got these as well. Wonder why they are so desperate...I feel very strange about anything right now. this is getting way too complicated...

Wow so many people who have gotten additional scholarship today are withdrawing. It looks like Hastings is in a bit of a trouble.

Hard to justify in my book when they don't offer full scholarships -- COL in SF is staggering in itself. Best of luck to everyone, where ever you end up.LawsRUs wrote:Wow so many people who have gotten additional scholarship today are withdrawing. It looks like Hastings is in a bit of a trouble.

I've got an automatic full ride and even I'm sketched out to a certain degree about everything. I love San Francisco more than any other place on earth, and my fiancee works just a few blocks from campus, but I'm hoping against hope for UCLA.

I've been under review for about a month, still haven't heard anything. But it appears as if a lot of people have already withdrawn their acceptances, so that's good news for the late apps.laura1323 wrote:under review today! how long until I hear back with a decision?

Admitted today via email. Wish they would divulge the scholarship info the admissions email, hopefully it is generous when they send it out later.

FYI Hastings dropped to #59 in the newest U.S. News rankings. I'm very interested in attending but I'm worried the school might slip even more.

Anyone have experience negotiating schols yet? Or suggestions for when to start this process? Thanks!

i do think it will slip more. SCU came up and i think it might be the better bet. But then, what do I know...Nickster1991 wrote:FYI Hastings dropped to #59 in the newest U.S. News rankings. I'm very interested in attending but I'm worried the school might slip even more.

I also got a scholarship increase but it wasn't enough to make me change my mind about withdrawing, which I'm probably going to do. I'm just curious - for those who want to go to Hastings, why? The reason I'm withdrawing isn't necessarily about the money but rather the fact that I can't find a single good thing anyone has to say about the school other than that it is in the bay area. Can I ask why you all want to go there? Is there a reason other than location?
(if this came off as sassy, I didn't intend it that way! I genuinely want to know).

That's a legit Q. The only reason why I applied is only because of the location, and I was curious about how much money they would give me. It turned out: not much. Will be withdrawing by the end of the month.Drowninmyowntears wrote:I also got a scholarship increase but it wasn't enough to make me change my mind about withdrawing, which I'm probably going to do. I literally did nothing. They just sent me an email saying I got awarded a higher scholarship to replace my previous offer.monkeyKT wrote:How did you get an increase?Drowninmyowntears wrote:I also got a scholarship increase but it wasn't enough to make me change my mind about withdrawing, which I'm probably going to do. Re: UC Hastings c/o 2018 (2014-2015 cycle)
Hey all,
I've gotten a handful of PMs asking about Hastings (at least some of which were from posters ITT), so I thought I would post here and answer questions together instead of one-at-a-time over PM.
I'm Hastings class of '14, I had a very positive experience, and I'm happy to talk about it when I have the time.
Just to be clear: I had a positive experience, but I would never recommend Hastings over any of the T14; if you have a clearly better option you should take it. However, if the t14 are not an option for you, I think Hastings has a lot to offer, especially in terms of an alumni network in the Bay Area/California.
I also want to be clear that many people have had negative experiences at Hastings; I am making no claim that negative experiences do not happen.
At any rate, if anyone has Qs I'll do my best to answer them.

I guess I'd just repeat my question from higher up on the thread. For those choosing a law school, what are some pros for Hastings other than location? My biggest concern is that it doesn't seem like anyone likes the school for anything other than location. But I'd love to hear your perspective! -Thanks!OneMoreLawHopeful wrote:Hey all,
