Got notified of a Dean's fellowship today. Does anyone know how common this is?

I got it too. I think it may be available to most students who may want to do public interest work their 1L or 2L summer.

Anyone receive a "Priority Waitlist' email? I completed my interview with an alum last week.

Does anyone feel like this school is worth going to at sticker? I've been accepted and offered a generous travel stipend, but having doubts if it's worth it.

Really depends on where you're trying to work afterwards. If you're set on staying in Colorado and don't have any offers from a T-14, I think it's worth it. If you want to end up at a big firm in NYC/LA/DC/SF, probably not.

What do you want to do with your JD?

39% of Richmond graduates work in law firms and 34% of Colorado graduates work in law firms.
This isn't the right question to ask. Schools don't have specialties because they have targeted curriculum that produces strong candidates in the specialty field, schools have specialties because schools intentionally market a certain aspect of their curriculum to attract candidates that are predisposed to enter that certain field. In other words, the curriculum itself has very little to do with the fact that CU graduates enter public interest legal jobs much more frequently than do graduates from other schools. CU just attracts those types of students.

You can work in a law firm in Colorado or Virginia with proper goal setting. Go to CU for Colorado and URichmond for Virginia; this is your decision.

Does anyone know if Colorado negotiates scholarships at all? I've gotten much better offers at higher ranked schools, but got minimal (like close to none) money from Colorado.

I received 40,000 total, by far my lowest offer from the lowest ranked school I applied to, ironic because Im attending here now.

They do, but it's not common.

For those of you who have received scholarship offers - how long after being admitted did you hear back regarding $$$? I was admitted 2/20 but have yet to hear anything else.

I was admitted on 1/16 and got my scholarship info on 2/16. It took a little under a month.

Accepted today. I don't understand why CU is using all my alternate addresses and emails instead of my primary ones. Check those if you haven't heard anything.

Hopefully scholarship info comes along shortly.

Anyone have any hotel recommendations for Boulder? Just need a cheap room for one night. I tried using the BoulderLodging website, but there were a hundred options to choose from

Is cheap your priority? Do you want to be near downtown? Will you have a car?

ETA actually just let me do this off the top: the Days Hotel would be cheap and convenient if you're planning to bus from the airport. It's an easy bus ride from there to the law school too or even Pearl St. It's like, not a very nice hotel but in terms of cheapest way to do the trip, this is it. If you want to be walking distance from the law school, the Broker Inn will be the cheapest. It's probably even lower quality than the Days. If you'll have a car and want cheapest, something along 36 is going to be your best bet. I'd find this annoying tho and don't especially suggest it, but it's what my parents did whenever they came to visit.

RIP the Outlook :(

Its not a "priority," but the cheaper the better. I won't have a car, will be using public transportation. Would ideally like to have a quick commute to campus/the law school

Oh ya, see above. Days Hotel is a 5 minute walk from the Table Mesa Park n Ride, which has a bus to/from the airport. The Dash stops right outside the hotel and the law school and downtown. Probably a 10 minute ride to the law school. The only thing more convenient with public transportation would be staying downtown, but that's going to be expensive.

I got the full scholly for 1L then 11,500 for 2L and 3L package. I was surprised, but I thought my optional essay was unique so I think that may have done it.

pm me for my stats.

It seems like their scholarships are heavily GPA motivated.

That scholarship makes the cost of CU and DU comparable. So now I'm trying to get more money from DU if possible. Has anyone tried to do this?

I tried to do the reverse several years ago. Had a full from DU and a partial from CU. CU would not budge.

Back then, everyone told me that DU did not negotiate. DU admissions is absolutely desperate for students this year though. Try to get a full ride with no stipulations.

I can anecdotally say with a high degree of confidence that this was not the case for me. I received a solid offer from Colorado Law with a very low GPA. Whole person matters!

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
