I meant about the school but sure: I'm a splitter and a small amount of money but not enough to move the needle.FuturePanhandler wrote:Roberrrrto wrote:Hey guys! Current UF Law 1L. I just wanted to let you know that I know what you are all going through. I got accepted at FSU the Friday after I applied but it took UF until the middle of February. I was a splitter. Anyway, the point is stay strong. It's a long process but it is definitely worth it.
And... if your status says "Final Decision Made; Notice Issue" you are in! UF does rejections via email and acceptances via snail mail.
I'm happy to take questions if there are any.
Did they give you any money? What were your stats?

This is a post from last years UF chat. Does anyone know if this is accurate?
"You get your UFID number from the help desk. You must call to get this number.
(352)392-HELP(4357)
Also, this is a quick way to check if you are admitted (once your status checker says decision reached, notice issued). If they have you on file and you have a UFID, you're in."

I am so sneaky. I think I got in. I used my uf Id from undergrad (I went there). And it let me sign up to do my deposit.
So if you didn't go there see if you can get your UFID and then login to the deposit thing!

Last year after the notice was up and before I received my admission offer I emailed Dean Adorno thanking her and she wrote back congratulating me, confirming I got in.

Still no prospective newsletter or decision letter in the mail. It's taking forever!

Still waiting... and waiting... and waiting. I got a letter from Wake, but no UF -- and I'm in Orlando. It would have been easier for me to drive up there and grab it myself. hah!

I was wondering how long it should take to get a decision. I submitted about two weeks ago and I am above both 75th percentiles. Is it going to take another couple weeks or should I expect a decision soon?

Yes. You will be waiting awhile. I'm above both 75s as well and I just got my decision. And I applied in October.

Final Decision Made as of 1/13, still no mail. I live in South Florida. GPA > 75 LSAT > 75, just used my personal statement as essay.

Just got my acceptance letter in the mail. No money yet, which was disheartening. Got a VERY generous scholarship at UMiami, and if I stay in Florida im more than likely going to choose UM over UF because of the money.
Letter was dated 1/15
ETA: Congrats to all the acceptances!!

Look back a few pages to the first batch or 2 of admits to see how long it takes to receive scholarship information. Scholarship information also doesn't come with the acceptance, give it a little time.

My scholarship info came at the same time as my acceptance packet, though in separate envelopes.

For those that have received scholarships already, did your status change prior to receiving the offer, or was it unannounced?

Hey guys! I just started my second semester at UF Law and wanted to pass along another great reason why I'm happy to at UF Law. As I'm sure you know, jobs are hard to find. Finding a summer jobs as a 1L is even harder.
UF Law has an amazing academic externship program that is really beneficial. You get academic credit for interning. This summer, I will be interning for a Federal Judge and earning 6 academic credits (requires 8 weeks, 40 hours per week). The link to the 2 part guide is below. It contains all of the employers that have agreed to be a part of the program. It truly is incredible.
Part 1: http://www.law.ufl.edu/wordpress/wp-con ... 4-2014.pdf
Part 2: http://www.law.ufl.edu/wordpress/wp-con ... er-PG2.pdf
I know the admissions process at UF is slow and painful and the scholarships are not very generous (I turned down $97k from Miami for a very small amount at UF), but it's worth it. Be patient and good luck! I'm happy to answer any questions.
Congrats to the new admits!
