ya. A little expensive, but that's usually where to go. You may find a pro athlete there as well. Thanks for the advice, I will definitely check those out. I also hear that the consensus for bars is uptown district as well?

If I'm lucky I'll see Tyler Seguin absolutely blasted hanging with like 10 girls a la those photos of him shitfaced in the streets of Boston. But I digress (Read: please come back to the Bruins, we suck now)

seguin actually hasn't been going out much. Right before Christmas my friend (valet parker at Northpark) parked for him twice, both different vehicles. One was a ferrari, and the other was a customized blacked out jeep. He had some foreign, ratchet girl with him twice. But, apparently, he usually stays at home and guys go over there, which I guess is the smarter thing at this point

Kuby's is terrible.
Try Meddlesome Moth, Common Table (Stars go there a lot after practices), and Katy Trail Ice House.

that's okay, cuz I feel like most posters ITT ( not me I guess, cuz I already live here) will find this information interesting for impending visits.WhiskeyAndCupcakes wrote:Katy Trail is Uptown.ilikebaseball wrote:Those must all be in Uptown.. one place I am not very close with lol. Babbs is Trinity Groves (it's southwest Dallas, also BBQ), Cane Rosso is Deep Ellum (pizza), Torchy's is all over.
I'll stop hijacking the thread now.
And I've actually been to Cane Rosso! I remember it now. Torchy's is overrated, imo. But I really did look up that "Common Table" restaurant (Die hard Stars fan and I go to virtually every home game) and it sounds reallyyy freakin good

I am currently in the process of finishing up materials to be submitted by Monday. I was wondering what is the diversity like at SMU and the area surrounding the campus? Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks everyone for all the tips for where to go in Dallas! Now I may have to do some type of Restaurant/Bar Crawl through the city and see how many calories and fat I can possibly consume in a weekend

The Foundry/Chicken Scratch is basically south Dallas, just on the other side of the river from Downtown. It is wonderful. Also, Smoke is amazing for brunch and Emporium Pies is great for "I'm full from brunch but also had 15 mimosas and now want to drunkenly eat pie". You could spend a day just hanging out in Bishop Arts.WhiskeyAndCupcakes wrote:In that case, other places to eat & drink in Dallas:ilikebaseball wrote: that's okay, cuz I feel like most posters ITT ( not me I guess, cuz I already live here) will find this information interesting for impending visits.

If you're closer to campus, you can check out Barley House, Milo Buttfingers (Milo's), and Nodding Donkey SMU. All much more casual than Uptown and usually less crowded (except on game days).

+1 to Hopdoddy's. I haven't been to the one in Dallas, but both locations in Austin are amazing.Afterparty wrote:Hopdoddys. All you need.
