Did u find that they were people who sent LOCI's? I only ask because I wonder if they did explicitly say they would definitely attend and this was a feeler versus people who sent in letters saying NYU is still their first choice. Might not need to send a feeler email to someone like that... all speculation though since I didn't get anything.

You can look, too, but there's no indication for holly45 (so s/he would need to answer for him/herself), while it looks like Nekrowizard sent one around May 7. No idea what they wrote, of course.

Did anyone who received the e-mail today state that NYU was your top choice? In my LOCI I stated that NYU was my top choice. So I was curious as to whether or not the e-mails may be specific to applicants who they may want to admit or to remaining applicants who have not indicated any preference.

Interesting....I'm a traditional splitter, LSAT>75th percentile, GPA<25th percentile and I'm still on 9 waitlists in the T-14

That's what we were trying to figure out with the LOCI's. One person sent a LOCI and one didn't. Neither are under review yet so I'm thinking (more like hoping) those emails were directed towards people they are interested in but not sure if the interest is reciprocated.

Went through LSN's stats for the 2012-13 cycle and then this year's, thought I'd share for your reference. Thought this may be more useful bc there have been 10% drops in applicants every year so the past three years of data may be a bit skewed, regardless it's another type of information. I included the info for straight admits/rejects for splitters because there were significantly fewer splitters waitlisted this cycle and I wanted to see why:

2012-13 GPA>median, LSAT>median:

remaining: 4
accepted: 1 (25% of remaining)
rejected: 1

2013-14 GPA>median, LSAT>median:
waitlisted: 8
remaining: 3
accepted: ?

accepted: 6 (26% of remaining)
