I for real did not know Penn was a good school until coming to TLS, and for a longtime thereafter I still thought it was a public university. (am from Midwest)

You're so sweet, Emma Watson! ^_^ this thread is where all the action is anyhow.jasper09 wrote:don't get me wrong, you're great company- I was just hoping the WL waves were close to being finished and that at least one of the regulars (yourself included) would get a JS2 by this afternoon.
On another note, what is TCR for a LOCI? Or does Harvard just want significant updates to resumes/grades/etc?

What do you all make of how the spreadsheet doesn't have a single URM?

Re: Harvard Waitlist 2017 - WITH SPREADSHEET!
Last cycle I couldn't find one URM who had been WL--->accepted on LSN or on the 2013 spreadsheet. Of course that data is incomplete, but it does seem like WL action isn't URM heavy for whatever reason.

I like your intuition.JSWright101 wrote:You can take those scholarships and accept those schools and still stay on the WL. I think non-JS1 WLs are better off than JS1-->WL imo based on nothing but intuition.lejabberwocky wrote:Off-topic, but what do you guys make of the WLed folks with a JS1 and those without? I haven't had a JS1 and am nervous about staying on the waitlist when scholarship deadlines are drawing close.
I've heard that what you described (taking a scholarship and then still staying on the WL) is something sanctioned by some sort of agreement law schools are all privy to. Is this true or just unreliable hearsay? If so is there a link to be accessed?
It just seems a little suspect, since scholarship conditions seem mostly to require you to withdraw apps from elsewhere...

Although there is one on the spreadsheet.

Read the terms carefully, but I think they say "withdraw from all schools to which you have been admitted."lejabberwocky wrote:I like your intuition.JSWright101 wrote:You can take those scholarships and accept those schools and still stay on the WL. Thank you both! I just double checked with letters and indeed they do say to withdraw from all programs to which I had been admitted. Sigh of relief. Probably good policy to disclose to a school if I do intend to send a deposit but stay on a waitlist though, right?
