I did as well, I think everyone that is left on the waitlist got it. I'm going to ride this wave out and hope I'm in the 5-15 but I haven't gotten any call or further contact yet.SesameStreetWise wrote:Anyone get the 5-15 email?

I was dead set, but Penn comes out being cheaper with the aid they gave and the fact that I can move back in with family. I'm going to commit to Penn but I really liked Vandy.Quan292 wrote:I did as well, I think everyone that is left on the waitlist got it. Did Penn just give you merit aid off the waitlist?wlee1220 wrote:I was dead set, but Penn comes out being cheaper with the aid they gave and the fact that I can move back in with family. My guess would be need aid since they've been saying they are out of merit aid.gerrydawg wrote:Did Penn just give you merit aid off the waitlist?wlee1220 wrote:I was dead set, but Penn comes out being cheaper with the aid they gave and the fact that I can move back in with family. Need aid only. I'm guessing though that they aren't of need aid and my need aid matched my Vandy scholarship.

Re: Penn Waitlist 2014
Hmm, did anybody here get the following email?
Any guesses as to how small this final wait list is? Is this more of a "interest gauging" email or a "letting you down softly" email?Thank you for your continued interest in the University of Pennsylvania Law School. I write to update you regarding your status as a waitlisted applicant.
At this point, the waitlist is very small as most candidates have been released. The waitlist is not ranked and all members of the Committee are very familiar with your application.
Historically, changes to the incoming class between now and the end of August have provided the opportunity to make between one and five additional offers of admission. Additional offers continue to be determined by the actions of our deposited students and our peer schools. Offers can be made as late as Wednesday, August 27, the first day of Orientation. Please know the Committee does everything we can to avoid this situation. Rest assured that we will continue to keep you promptly informed.
We fully understand that many schools begin orientation programs and/or classes next week, and that you may be faced with tuition bills, final travel arrangements, securing a student visa, and/or the necessity to secure housing. If you are in this position, and believe you will no longer be in the position to accept an offer of admission and enroll, please reply directly to this email to remove your name from the waitlist.
However, if you are in the position to change your plans throughout the month of August, please send an update to contactadmissions@law.upenn.edu.

I also just got that email, and I'm taking it as a way for admissions to weed out kids who definitely can't attend before they make their absolute, final offers.

Yeah, that's my takeaway as well.meat tornado wrote:I also just got that email, and I'm taking it as a way for admissions to weed out kids who definitely can't attend before they make their absolute, final offers.
...although - I was stalking the NYU 2014 Waitlist thread (http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... &start=325), and they seem to be taking a similar email as a sign of imminent acceptance. Of course, that might be applicable to NYU's practices in the past, but it does make you wonder...
Btw, I love your username, Meat Tornado.

I do wish Penn was as predictable with their waitlist decisions as NYU has been. The email/UR/DLS pattern NYU really takes a lot of the guesswork out of waiting. But good luck to everyone still waiting!

Re: Penn Waitlist 2014
I'm there with you. I actually got off the Penn Waitlist, but knew that with a few more points I would be looking at a scholarship.gobears!! wrote:Even though I wanted to weather the long wait and keep my cornucopia of letters of continued interest growing, I had to officially withdraw from the waitlist this afternoon after getting yesterday's email. It was one of the hardest things I have done in a while because Penn is a dream school, but I accepted a paralegal position at a Big Law firm that was too good to turn down.
I wish you all the best of luck over the rest of the summer. It is a tough process but power through! If any of you plan on reapplying this next cycle, add me and we can vent to each other. No one ever has to be alone.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
