Same, but they mention it is for science/engineering majors (which I am not). Can I apply without coming from that background? I didn't quite understand.

They may have sent it out to everyone who checked IP as an interest. I'm not sure, I am from the background so figure why not.

Is anyone else here going to the welcome week on Feb28-March 1st? It's a pretty sweet deal especially with the room and board and the travel voucher!

Yeah! I just booked my flight! I think it's pretty awesome that they do it so prospective students can get a feel

Why not fly? The stipend covers almost the entire fare from NYC and they pick you up/drop you off at the airport! I think I will be flying out from NYC on Feb. 28th.

Prof called to welcome me. Also 1L from my undergrad reached out, called me and welcomed me to stay in dorm if I go to ASW. Nice touch. I was not thinking of going to ASW. I am on a budget. How much do you expect to spend? I looked at flights, cost $450 for March28-29 ASW. With WLU stipend, that's $150 + party drinks+ here and there= $300 total.

They literally provide all transportation and board so there would be no costs there (my flight was less tan 300$). As with food they only provide lunch. But Virginia is fairly inexpensive with regard to food. The last time I went I spent 10$ and got one helluva bbq meal, but honestly it's as much as you want to spend. If it's party drinks your worried about hell I will split a handle with ya

. I don't plan on spending more then 50 dollars tops during my stay there.

Also received scholarship details by mail today!!! :3 I was surprised with the amount since it was apparently their second round of offers and they supposedly dispense less for it...
