Yeah, I wouldn't be too worried about this. Latest job data shows that nearly 70% of UGA grads get jobs as lawyers within 9 months. A decent chunk of those are pretty good jobs, too. If they have solid placement in spite of a crappy CSO, the CSO quality itself wouldn't be a major factor in my mind.Kanye West wrote:If you go to ATL and check the rankings. Yea, I usually take it to imply that CSO's were pampered with jobs back in the day, and never really did much. And well, they still don't do much.AT9 wrote: Yeah, I wouldn't be too worried about this. Latest job data shoes that nearly 70% of UGA grads get jobs as lawyers within 9 months. Current 2L. I wouldn't call the CSO helpful, but the sentence about OCI wasn't correct. There were definitely 20+ firms at 2L OCI, and a few interviewed 40 people.Winston1984 wrote:I was just about to post this. It's a tough world out there, though. If you have the gpa for it, retaking for a chance at UVA or whatever is something to think about. Can't beat the price at UGA, and our employment is a sight better than schools like GSU, but you have to do well to get a market-paying job - median ain't gonna cut it.

Does UGA send out an application acknowledgement email? Only school where I haven't received any confirmation of my application.

You can just check to see whether they received it through the status checker.msx3 wrote:Does UGA send out an application acknowledgement email? Only school where I haven't received any confirmation of my application.

Just wanted to check with anyone subscribed to this thread: any movement over the past few days? I'm assuming the snow has slowed the adcomm down some.
Any expectations for when we could hear something? Cheers.

Re: UGA c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014)
This is potentially an idiotic question, but....
For those of you (I'm assuming most) who submitted your UGA app through LSAC, where did you put a resume? There's no section for one under the 'Attachments' section of the app, so I'm assuming it's not necessary or even optional. However, it feels odd to not submit a resume. My gut instinct is to attach mine under the "Additional Information" tab. My application is otherwise done, so I'll be submitting in a few days. Just wanted to see what other applicants did before I submit. Thanks!

Yeah, I was a little thrown of by that too when I submitted mine. I included it under the additional information section.mes10d wrote:This is potentially an idiotic question, but....

Not yet, but I plan to. I'm waiting to see if I get any other good offers I can use as leverage. Let me know if you try how it goes!
That is EXACTLY what I am waiting on.

FYI: I sent an email with my one offer and they said they will get back to me closer to the deposit deadline since they are still giving out initial scholarships. So I don't think it matters if you email them now or a little later

Checking in - I submitted Tuesday, and usually within 24 hours of submitting, every school has gotten back to me saying they've received my application. Georgia still hasn't. Is this normal?

Totally. It took almost a week for a few schools to acknowledge my existence. I'd give it til the middle of next week before worrying about it if I were you!mes10d wrote:Checking in - I submitted Tuesday, and usually within 24 hours of submitting, every school has gotten back to me saying they've received my application. That's funny, my wife said if we go I MUST provide her with a bulldog. I asked if that meant I get a badass eagle if I get into BC. She has yet to answerKanye West wrote:Applied 01/27, in by email today.
