Re: Stanford c/o 2017 (2013-2014 applicants)
I need some advice, guys. I know that one thing people always say is important is to have a continuous thread/theme running through your application. It seems to me that the only place where we actually have control over creating this theme is in our PS. Does this mean that my PS should be tied to my previous experiences (lessons learned from WE, internships, UG, etc). I can see the advantage to doing something like that, but the draft I have of my current PS is totally unrelated to other parts of my application because a) I didn't want to be repeating my resume and b) I didn't feel like other parts of my app explained who I am as a person like I wanted to in my PS. I guess I'm just asking how you guys use your PS to maintain a theme to your app.

Thanks for the response. I think you're right that there's definitely room to make some connections with my Why Stanford essay. I can't really see myself writing a DS or addendum because those are really dependent on what the rest of your app looks like.

This is probably unlikely, but is anyone else from TLS visiting the campus tomorrow? (Monday 12 Aug)

I am not in Palo Alto, so I'll just ask "Why do you ask?" for the sake of curiosity.2x2Matrix wrote:This is probably unlikely, but is anyone else from TLS visiting the campus tomorrow? (Monday 12 Aug)

Take my advice, you never get what you expect when you meet up with people on the internet2x2Matrix wrote:Just thought it might be cool to meet some people from an online forum in real lifeVincent wrote:I am not in Palo Alto, so I'll just ask "Why do you ask?" for the sake of curiosity.2x2Matrix wrote:This is probably unlikely, but is anyone else from TLS visiting the campus tomorrow? Re: Stanford c/o 2017 (2013-2014 applicants)
(Very) Long time lurker, first time poster. TLS has definitely given me a good combination of advice and stressed out sleepless nights, and I thought I'd start contributing my 2 cents (aka lack of sanity) since I'm applying this upcoming cycle! Also some friends who are currently TLSers have been really nagging at me to join for a while...
Thought it'd be fitting to write my first post in the Stanford c/o 2017 thread, since there is literally no other school I'd rather go to. Although hoping that I also don't jinx anything by posting here
Currently slaving away at my PS and also retaking the LSAT in October!
Let the craziness begin.

Checking in despite my GPA. $80 is a lot to pay for a rejection letter, but who needs groceries anyway?

This might be true in many cases but not always. A bunch of us TLS posters met up when we got to campus last week and they are all really chill, its not as weird as you would thinkArtistOfManliness wrote:Take my advice, you never get what you expect when you meet up with people on the internet2x2Matrix wrote:Just thought it might be cool to meet some people from an online forum in real lifeVincent wrote:I am not in Palo Alto, so I'll just ask "Why do you ask?" for the sake of curiosity.2x2Matrix wrote:This is probably unlikely, but is anyone else from TLS visiting the campus tomorrow? I can report similar chillness from impromptu meetings back at ASW last year! You guys are all pretty cool people.jbagelboy wrote:This might be true in many cases but not always.
