Re: Stanford Waitlist 2013
Holy shit. Congrats to the WL -> accepts. Im so jealous. Also seems absurd to be admitted after nearly a year after applying
ETA: from a data point of view, seems to be high LSAT/3.8+ GPAs, so Stanford isnt giving any last minute ground on medians (to be expected, why would they? For me? Pshht

Gratz! Interesting...numbers.
You should definitely take SLS yarsteen. Small considerations are easy to adjust to and will fade from memory.

This isn't about me (I'm applying this upcoming cycle) but I had a friend get off the WL today - she was originally going to Columbia but got the call and agreed today. So it looks like people are still getting snatched up!

As someone that is praying for a spot to open up at Columbia, this is excellent news.thestatusguo wrote:This isn't about me (I'm applying this upcoming cycle) but I had a friend get off the WL today - she was originally going to Columbia but got the call and agreed today. Re: Stanford Waitlist 2013
Well, I've decided to go with Stanford!
I'll be sure to ask Dean Deal in the morning (when I make the official decision call) how the waitlist is looking and pass the word along.

Re: Stanford Waitlist 2013
Just got off the phone- had a great conversation with Faye Deal. She said there are still a few spots left to fill and it is crunch time for them, so there's still hope! She also mentioned that they try to keep a couple of spots open on the waitlist even after the semester starts for emergency situations (they had 2 students leave after starting last year).
It also turns out I accepted their offer exactly 11 months after I initially applied. Crazy.
Anyways, HTH, good luck to any of that are still waiting!!

Re: Stanford Waitlist 2013
Was fortunate enough to get a phone call today! I still can't believe it. SLS has always been my first choice, but I have an amazing financial aid package from HLS (combination of need-based aid from the law school and general scholarship from the university), and I literally just finished setting up my apartment in Cambridge. Dean Deal said I should be receiving financial aid information tomorrow and will then have until the weekend to decide.

Re: Stanford Waitlist 2013
It seems to me that the Stanford waitlist has had significant movement this year, at least on TLS. Faye seemed to indicate that there was a lot going on and she was giving several offers, many of which were turned down. Hopefully this will give hope to current applicants- I know when I got on the waitlist I assumed it was over as Stanford had a reputation of not using its waitlist much.

Re: Stanford Waitlist 2013
Yea -- from what I can tell, you are the only person in the first wave to have accepted the offer, and you did so late, so another batch was released. Im guessing enough people accepted now that no more spots will open.. I am nearly resigned to this conclusion..yarsten wrote:It seems to me that the Stanford waitlist has had significant movement this year, at least on TLS. I just can't for the life of me figure out why the movement was so late- I mean, seat deposits were due months ago for every school...

It's the quarter system. I remember talking to admissions back in mid-June and they were still busy preparing for graduation. I looked over at the Chicago thread and it seems like they have similar late movement.yarsten wrote:I just can't for the life of me figure out why the movement was so late- I mean, seat deposits were due months ago for every school...

A friend of mine who originally got off the WL at Stanford and had accepted the offer just got off the WL at Harvard and will be attending there instead, haha. She made the decision today! So it's still not quite over!

So, what's the deal? Are we ever going to receive rejection emails or are we simply quietly forgotten?
