You can check the TLS Stats for Villanova (http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/s ... =villanova); sometimes people post their offers. If you also just take a look through this year's Villanova threads, you'll definitely see other TLSers' offers.sadcat16 wrote:I just got an e-mail about $25,000 per year, with the 2.0 stip.
Does anyone know how this compares with what else is being offered?
Not truedelizabeth10 wrote:Just got in via phone call! Above both medians. Sent 1/31, complete 2/4, accepted 2/8.

I hear you, I have similar numbers and have worked as a paralegal at an IP firm in the Philly area for 5 years, and I got waitlisted to at Villanova. What is more bizzare, I was accepted at Michigan State (half scholarship) and Penn State ($2500), both are better schools than Villanova rankings wise. The only thing I can think of is that Villanova doesn't want to accept so many local students? I live and work 10 mins from Villanova's campus. Outside of that, not sure what they are doing.
It's possible that they may be able to sense that you would get accepted by better schools, and they're protecting their offerings?nick417 wrote:penguinbrah wrote:161/3.8 ...waitlisted lol

That could possibly be the reason. However, right now I am leaning toward going to Drexel (which is ranked slightly lower than Villanova) because of the excellent scholarship offer. (Not to brag, but I am already pretty much set with job prospects so law school rankings are not AS important for me). Thus, for Villanova to put me on the wait list is just puzzling, seeing people with lower scores being accepted at Villanova. Villanova was high on my list simply because of the convenience. It is close to where I live and work and I wouldn't have to fight the traffic to get into city like I would at Temple and Drexel.magp90 wrote:It's possible that they may be able to sense that you would get accepted by better schools, and they're protecting their offerings?nick417 wrote:penguinbrah wrote:161/3.8 ...waitlisted lol

If they all happened like mine, they came in the same email in which I was notified of my acceptance. But you can definitely ask the committee to reconsider, especially if you have offers from other schools.mmlennon wrote:does anybody know if all scholarship notifications have been sent out for those admitted?

Same. Did you get a call or email with scholarship info?babyxballerina wrote:Accepted via status checker.
For what it's worth, I got admitted to Villanova via phonecall on a Friday without any mention of scholarship money. I received an email about my scholarship from Dean Marti the following Monday. You may still be hearing about merit aid tomorrow or next week!phlmar wrote:Same. Did you get a call or email with scholarship info?babyxballerina wrote:Accepted via status checker.

I'm not sure if it was the same for everyone else, but I actually got the call before my status checker changed to accepted. The dean who called me said that my status checker should reflect my acceptance later in the day (I think it didn't update until the following Monday).babyxballerina wrote:Thanks!! I just got the call less than 10 minutes ago! You were "in review" for 4 days? I swear I was "in review" for like 3 weeks.delizabeth10 wrote:I'm not sure if it was the same for everyone else, but I actually got the call before my status checker changed to accepted. Awesome- congratulations! I got spoiled by good luck at the beginning of my cycle with ridiculously fast turnaround times from three schools (like just over a week). I've been sitting at "Complete" for a month now at my two top choices, though!babyxballerina wrote:I just got the call less than 10 minutes ago! You were "in review" for 4 days? Thanks! I've been hearing a lot of good news lately. The only schools left are my major reach schools plus maybe one that I have a chance of getting into. They're all going to reject me at once.
