Wish I hadn't seen this thread 10 minutes ago, now every time I see a text I'm a little disappointed it's not a call from UMN haha.

Sunny, when is admitted students day? Do you know if they subsidize visits?

This year you can choose either 3/8-3/9 or 4/5-4/6. The schedule is booked solid all day on Friday, and on Saturday there's a "Minneapolis Neighborhood Tour" for non-residents, which sounds really nice. I don't remember seeing anything last year about a travel stipend or any kind of subsidy, but I'll keep you guys posted if I find anything! Hopefully minnbills or one of the current students can shed a little light on this.BigZuck wrote:Congrats Sunny, Ant, and all new admits!

Sweet, thanks for the info! I'm guessing no on the subsidy because that would be really expensive. I'm going to try and make it up there for one of those weekends though anyway.alwayssunnyinfl wrote:This year you can choose either 3/8-3/9 or 4/5-4/6. In via email
I went complete early last week, so the decision was made rather quickly. U Minnesota has recently gone up in my ranking for several reasons, and I can't wait to find out about scholarship to see if I can afford to attend. Pretty thrilled!
Edit: 30K/yr.

Waitlisted today. 166/3.78, Marine Officer, Out of State. This was one of my top choices, a bit disappointed.

Have you considered taking the LSAT one more time? Another point and you're very likely to get in.

Re: Minnesota c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013 cycle)
I have considered it, as I seriously underperformed on test day. However, I got selected for a program where the Marine Corps is paying for school on top of my regular pay and allowances, so I'm stuck with this score unless I opt out of the program. Which would be insane.minnbills wrote:Hang in there. And congrats on UT.wwUSMC84 wrote:Waitlisted today. 166/3.78, Marine Officer, Out of State. This was one of my top choices, a bit disappointed.

Why would retaking kick you out of the program? There's still February.wwUSMC84 wrote:I have considered it, as I seriously underperformed on test day. A lot of schools won't accept February scores for this cycle, and because of time in service restrictions I have to start school by September of 2013 or I am disqualified for the program by statutes outlined in Title 10 of the U.S. code.alwayssunnyinfl wrote:Why would retaking kick you out of the program? Re: Minnesota c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013 cycle)
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but most schools advise against February tests because it's too late to submit as your primary score. However, you can retake in February, and when you get a higher score back in March it will definitely help get you off of waitlists and get scholarship. Most schools don't start pulling from waitlists until March at the earliest, anyway.wwUSMC84 wrote: A lot of schools won't accept February scores for this cycle, and because of time in service restrictions I have to start school by September of 2013 or I am disqualified for the program by statutes outlined in Title 10 of the U.S. code.

I mistook what you meant. Sorry, your right I could retake to get in off the waitlist, but my current billet makes it near impossible to get the day off. Especially considering my leadership knows I've already been accepted to a couple good schools. I'll look into it though.alwayssunnyinfl wrote:Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but most schools advise against February tests because it's too late to submit as your primary score. Ah, makes sense. I really hope you get in! Your GPA sounds great and you must have a lot of good life experience you were able to show in your file. Good luck!wwUSMC84 wrote:I mistook what you meant.
