Re: Tulane Law Applicants 2012-2013 Cycle
Hey Guys! Congratulations on your admission! I started this group in hopes of networking within our incoming class. Everyone at one point or another has probably searched on Facebook for a group like this so I went ahead and created it. Please invite others that you know have been admitted! Congrats again!

Just got my admit too
would totally attend if money situation were to work out. Like you, Im tempted to go to asw at least! Im still in undergrad though, and taking two days "off" during undergrad would kind of suck. Im actually almost regretting not waiting till the year after undergrad so i could go to asw to several schools!

Are they sending schollys in a different email or with the admit packet? I didn't see any info about it

Im hoping they send it with the packet. I havent seen anything about it either. Their little site for admitted students had more info in it than many other schools ive been admitted to. The "financial aid" section only listed the types of aid you could get, nothing specific. Im so tempted to go visit. Im in Dallas, so the travel stipend would cover my trip out there completely

the scholly comes with admit packet but I called in and was told that they are not going to give me any merit based aid. Unsure if they usually send it over email but I would jut call and ask.nirvanah wrote:Im hoping they send it with the packet. I havent seen anything about it either. As for me, the chances of me paying sticker at Tulane when I have an acceptance with W&L and pay less there (although not a lot less but COL there is much much cheaper) are very very slim.

Definitely not attending at sticker. It's ridiculously expensive. Tulane has a good reputation in the south, and nola would be a fun place to live...but no way. I dont think a school other than T6 is worth sticker- and that too is debatable! (unless you're mega rich, and only need a JD to work for your family or something)

I was there on Friday but couldn't hang around for the tours on Saturday. Anyone know if I missed anything important?

You didn't miss anything really big. We either chose between a walking tour of campus or a session on the academic program that morning. I chose the academic session. In that he basically just went over the outline of the three years of school and what all was offered each year. Then we took a bus tour around Uptown and he showed us different places to look for housing.lambert8 wrote:I was there on Friday but couldn't hang around for the tours on Saturday. Thanks sounds good. What'd you think of the ASW as a whole?

Re: Tulane Law Applicants 2012-2013 Cycle
I enjoyed it. I really liked sitting and talking to Professor Davies, the maritime law professor, at lunch. He was very informative. Friday really wore me out, they threw a lot of information at us. The weekend definitely moved me more toward Tulane. What did you think of it?lambert8 wrote:Thanks sounds good. What'd you think of the ASW as a whole?

Re: Tulane Law Applicants 2012-2013 Cycle
I can agree with what you said about Friday wearing you out, they packed a lot of stuff into one day. I thought it may have been better if they broke up the first day by doing the tours then so at least you weren't sitting inside the whole time on a nice day. Other than that I liked what they had to say.

I've been complete since 1/16. Starting to get annoyed that I have not even been waitlisted to see where I stand.
