Sorry for the late response! I would love to work either in Florida or California. I wouldn't mind Texas either but would prefer one of those two. Sorry for my ignorance, to me "South state" means pretty much anywhere in the US where it doesn't snow hahaJCFindley wrote:Keep in mind, to an international student, California, Arizona and New Mexico ARE southern states as per geographic location.dingbat wrote:Where do you want to work? Pretty much what I thought. Hmm. I'm debating whether I should apply. I am an international applicant, I don't mind living in NYC for 3 years for my law degree but I def. don't want to live there longer - I want to live in one of the south states. I applied to most T14 as well as a few others less highly ranked California law schools (UCLA, USC, UC Davis). I think I'll skip. Good luck to everyone applying!
@Mdenis. Generally when Americans speak of the South they mean the traditional Dixie states and sometimes Texas.

Fordham sends a decent proportion of graduates to California. Texas and Florida, on the other hand, are pretty hard to break into unless you have tiesMdenis1 wrote:Sorry for the late response! Hoping for some advice if anyone can oblige. All of my apps are pretty much done and I'm just waiting for my teachers to hook me up with LOR's. Seeing as how Fordham doesnt require LOR's should I just send in the app now to get it in a tad earlier or wait for my letters, to be frank I doubt my letters are going to wow any of the adcomms anyway but curious if they would still look down on not havin any it despite it not being a requirement. 169, 3.1 as a reference to where I stand numbers-wise.

It depends on how much you'll have to wait for your LORs. If you can get your LORs by early December or so, I would say wait, since not much will happen over Thanksgiving anyways and a few weeks won't make that much of a difference. If you think you'll have to wait until January, I would submit now. I honestly don't know how they'll interpret not having them since it's not a requirement, but it's probably not worth waiting until January for. Good luck!vinnnyvincenzo wrote:Hoping for some advice if anyone can oblige. All of my apps are pretty much done and I'm just waiting for my teachers to hook me up with LOR's. So for the last two years decisions have gone out that week of Thanksgiving, anyone think that's a possibility this year or has Sandy forced things back?

Fordham is known for updating complete status dates (check out last years thread) but I agree. Also it would be weird for no one on Lsn or tsl to get in. Maybe it's only by snail mail this year.

In all honesty my numbers are not getting me into fordham so I don't see my status update as relevant.

Almost everyone in my cycle was email; I got a phone call because I'd basically harassed the Admissions Director to such an extent that I believe he wanted some payback (in the form of hearing me breakdown at the news, I think. He's awesome.)dingbat wrote:email.zoomzoom88 wrote:How did they notify ppl in the past?

ETA: also listen to Dingbat. Fordham really does believe in an holistic way of putting together classes. It's not over til it's over and numbers are important but they aren't everything. Hang in there.
