For the interview:
I don't have a suit, nor do I have money for a suit. ( I Do havea shirt + tie + slacks)
I feel like either I should do it "right" or don't do it at all. I know they're very into the whole "professional" aspect and I feel like no interview at all would be better than screwing up my impression on them.
Does this matter at all?
How much would NOT doing the interview hurt? 1 year WE, splitter but probably in according to LSN

I will be visiting tommorrow through Saturday. Do any students have recommendations about which class to sit in on Friday at 10:25 a.m.? I'm planning to do class then, go on the tour, and then interview. Also, would any students be willing to meet for drink(s) Friday? I'll buy a round if you talk to me about NU!

I've got Crim with Nadler at 10:25...I'd recommend that over contracts, at least. Not sure what other sections have at that time slot.fruitoftheloom wrote:I will be visiting tommorrow through Saturday. I wore shirt/tie/slacks and it was fine. I think you're being incredibly irrational if you think that not wearing a suit hurts more than just scrapping the interview entirely. Come on.senorhosh wrote:For the interview:

Yeah, you'll be fine. I cancelled mine last cycle but only because I literally flew up to Chicago with nothing more formal than jeans and sweaters. And I wound up cancelling that whole cycle anyway.

Yes, just dress as professionally as you can, and act professionally. Not interviewing would hurt your chances much more.tyler.durden wrote:^ this. Sweet. If they let me in, I'll be there. Looking like a nerd, all dressed up in my suit. Flying into Chicago for my interview tomorrow and just wanted to say thanks for all the advice about interviewing in this thread, definitely has me going into it a lot more confident knowing what questions to expect.

Any classes that start around 8 or 8:30AM? I live and work in the city and would love to sit in on a class, I just can't leave work in the middle of the day, but I can get to work a little late!

I have Torts, which I guess is vaguely interesting. Not sure what other sections have. Kikero and Crumps and Scarlet are probably out having a more interesting Friday night than I am, but maybe they will chime in later.

lol. I'm in my pjs, I was just baseballing. My section has civ pro. our professor is pretty hilarious, so I'd recommend it. Feel free to PM me for info. If you can make it at 2:30, though, my section's contracts is not to be missed. Our professor is a genius spitfire and no computers are allowed so everyone is really on the ball.rinkrat19 wrote:Oh shit, I meant Mon-Tues-Wed at 8:45, not MWF. Derp. Re: Northwestern Law C/O 2016 (2012-2013 Applicants)
Has anyone gotten a fee waiver email from Northwestern? I got one last cycle but ended up not applying. I talked to them this year, they wouldn't give me a code and said that the waive emails would go out at the end of sept. or the beginning of this month. Still no sign of it which is killing me b/c my app has been finished for three weeks and I've just wanted to save myself the 100 bucks if possible. But I think i'm at the point where i can stand it no longer and im going to send my app out.
Thought id check and see if maybe they just decided to snub me this time around or if they really haven't gone out yet.

By far my section's favorite to listen to and a pretty big deal, legal scholar-wise.

How does the e-mail process work? Do they receive a record of everyone with active or complete applications from LSAC and then send waivers to certain e-mail addresses on the list? Or is it based on LSAT score reporting? I'm interested in how this goes down.feralinfant wrote:Has anyone gotten a fee waiver email from Northwestern? I got one last cycle but ended up not applying. Re: Northwestern Law C/O 2016 (2012-2013 Applicants)
It's based on LSAT score. I don't know how LSAC's system interfaces with the schools, but somehow the schools pick a cutoff score and emails get sent to everyone above a certain LSAT floor.HawgDriver wrote:How does the e-mail process work? She's really great, but I'd recommend going to either Scarlet's civ pro or Rink's torts because I think our classroom is completely full.rinkrat19 wrote:Oh shit, I meant Mon-Tues-Wed at 8:45, not MWF.
