I sent all of my apps in around the same time and am complete everywhere but here. has this happened to anyone else? I'm getting a little antsy that its taking them so long !

It does take awhile to get your status checker. Just be patient! You can actually go to the status checker on their website and go through the whole I Forgot my ID/Password process to get access a few days earlier. However, until you get the email with your status checker info from them, it'll just give you an error and say your application is not in the system yet. Just save the trouble and wait.
UT is visiting my campus tomorrow (well, today) and giving an admissions presentation from 3-4. I have an actual interview with a UT person at 10:30 that morning. I don't know if interviewing is common or will help me in any way, but I wasn't going to pass it up! They don't often accept white girls with a 163 so I need anything I can get to distinguish myself. I can't imagine the admissions presentation will be too useful since I've already applied but I'm attending anyway for obvious reasons.

Are most of the people getting held out of state?

I've been assuming that my application was complete since I got the email saying my application was received and my LSAC account says it's completed. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Anyway, I submitted on Nov 8 to make the ED deadline by the hair of my chinny chin chin, and I don't have a status checker yet.

I'm an in-state applicant and have not been held over for regular decision. I'm not sure if that's a good sign, a bad sign, or a sign that they just haven't gotten to my application yet! Watch me find out I've been held over now that I've posted this...

UT is giving out some nice cash money so far this cycle. Might be tough to pass that up over lower T14.

I think it's a sign that a priority right now is meeting their instate quota (with declining applications I can see how this may prove difficult), which is GREAT for us!!FallingHigher wrote:I am in the same boat as you. :/lnh819 wrote:I'm an in-state applicant and have not been held over for regular decision. Dinged, but not really surprised since they don't like splitters all that much

Seems like UT is one of the few law schools that has an instate quota to meet, wonder why that is?

Re: University of TEXAS c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013 cycle)
I think it has to do with the Texas state law that requires no more that 35% of their class come from out of state. With this declining app cycle, that may mean us out of staters have a longer wait.. :/Paraflam wrote:Seems like UT is one of the few law schools that has an instate quota to meet, wonder why that is?

If you're eligible for the GI Bill, you qualify for in-state tuition in Texas immediately, without having to live there for 12 months first. But does anyone know if you would then count as "in-state" for the purpose of UT's quota system?

Has anyone admitted in the first wave (in on 2 Nov, call from Dean on 5 Nov) received any money yet? If so, care to disclose details?
One more: anyone interested in n "In at UT c/o 2016" thread?
