I wrote a Why Columbia but honestly I'm sure it doesn't matter either wayferalinfant wrote:is the consensus on the supplementary essay that it's really just for a DS or an addendum for lsat/gpa with legitimate excuses (i.e. medical).
In other words I shouldn't use this as an opening to write a "why columbia" right?
I'm pretty sure that I should just not add anything based on the wording but I thought i'd get TLS collective wisdom first.

It has been a month now and my app still isn't complete. I e-mailed admissions last week and got a generic "completion is pending blah blah" response. Would it be advisable to give them a call?

Don't. (Sorry to drop in 0Ls.) I'm enjoying my 1L experience here (as much as one can), but I think EDing to Columbia would almost always be the wrong choice. If you're absolutely certain you wouldn't go anywhere else or you know you wouldn't go to NYU, it might make sense. Otherwise, you're giving away your right to bargain for minimal gain.VasaVasori wrote:Trying to decide whether or not to ED

I've also been on the edge of EDing (but leaning towards not) - has it even been proven that ED for Columbia gives a noticeable boost?

Debating whether or not to ED (3.74/173) since a look at LSN shows that area filled with yellow

From the Columbia website : "Some examples include diversity statements, statements of strong interest in Columbia Law School, explanations of undergraduate and/or LSAT performance, etc."is the consensus on the supplementary essay that it's really just for a DS or an addendum for lsat/gpa with legitimate excuses (i.e. medical).
In other words I shouldn't use this as an opening to write a "why columbia" right?

If the report isn't received/processed until after the ED deadline, but the app was submitted through LSAC on time, does that still count as having made the deadline?

The wording from their Early Decision Contract (downloadable here):woolfiot wrote:If the report isn't received/processed until after the ED deadline, but the app was submitted through LSAC on time, does that still count as having made the deadline?
So it looks like it will count as long as it was submitted by then.If you have chosen to apply as an Early Decision candidate, please complete this form and submit it to LSAC with all other required application materials no later than November 15.

ED Columbia with 167/3.98 from Cal?
What do you guys think or should I ED Penn for a higher chance of acceptance?

Penn. CLS would be a waste of an ED, although PEnn's probably not happening either.believeit wrote:What do you guys think or should I ED Penn for a higher chance of acceptance?

Reapplicant? I have the feeling this may be why mine is taking so long. UCLA told me that's what held me up thereCrowing wrote:Almost 6 weeks incomplete now, but I guess I shouldn't call now in light of recent events
