I changed to 'under committee review' on the 1st of the month. I am hoping this means we will get an answer in the next couple of weeks. If I don't get UPenn I am thinking of switching ED to UVA.

Does Penn review all ED apps before reviewing RD apps?

Nice! Did they email you when you went under review? I'm wondering whether I should daily check my status or just wait for an email.

Didn't get an email, daily check! Although it makes me feel a bit neurotic...

Received a nice little booklet in the mail today. Nothing special, but it's the first snail mail I've gotten from a "legit" school and it was exciting for me!

Yes, Penn is notorious for YPing high-LSAT splitters.
What does YP means? I keep seeing it in thread but can't figure it out.

it means "yield protection." apparently the "yield" (the percentage of accepted students who actually matriculate there) is a part of the USNWR ranking criteria, and sometimes law schools intentionally rejects people with really high numbers, expecting that they would be accepted to better-ranked law schools and go there. by rejecting people who they think wouldnt matriculate, theyre "protecting" the yield rate.
Ahhhh!!! Yes I know that yield criteria of USNWR. I hadn't linked it with "YP". Thanks for clearing that up for me :)

Hi Everyone, just have a quick question. I'm working on my applications but taking the Feb. LSAT. Does anyone know if they wait for my LSAT score because I see the application deadline is march, a couple of days before the lsat score should be released.

thanks

I think they will wait... but you really lower your chances by applying so late. I'd apply next cycle if you have no other choice than taking the February LSAT.

Just as a side note, YP is mostly (almost entirely, really) waitlisting, not rejecting. Of course, most of these waitlists end in rejection...

Checking in. Applied ED. UCR as of 11/12.

This is my second app cycle..got into a few schools with scholly last year but decided to get some work experience since I was an undergrad last year. Reading this thread has significantly elevated my stress level hahaha...I knew reading TLS while I waited as a bad idea.
