As do I.
Do you, or anyone have the e-mail address for Dean Post? I can only access the general e-mail for admissions on their website.
Thanks.

ditto. i love the 2/17 group of people. penn will really be missing out if they don't take us all.moxy wrote:Hahahahaha .. I love your self assessment.QueMellow wrote:psach44 wrote:What makes you think youre getting in?
Wishful thinking or based on something?
Does your thought process go for the entire batch of 2/17-3/19-ers?
Quite admittedly, it's mostly wishful thinking; I'm a dyed-in-the-wool optimist...think Rick Grimes from The Walking Dead. I'll say that numbers-wise, our group seems to be weaker. And I think we're being evaluated against one another for that reason. I'm guessing that a lower proportion of us will be admitted, but that there will still be some.
Personally, I believe I've made it abundantly clear to Penn that I would attend at the drop of a dime. I've visited twice, spoken face-to-face with Dean Post, written what I consider to be a strong LOCI that I had a friend on the Review drop off in person, and I've been admitted to their Education School. I'm well aware my numbers aren't quite up to snuff, but Penn has a reputation for looking at the whole applicant. I think an older, more experienced individual such as myself would bring some outside perspective and balance to what can be an insular experience sometimes divorced from reality. And not to toot my own horn, but I'm pretty darn impressed with myself as a whole person.
The question, of course, is if Penn is as impressed!

Aw! Can you feel the love? I used to hold back on this forum because, well, it's the Internet, but y'all have truly made this whole thing bearable.Geneva wrote:ditto. i love the 2/17 group of people. penn will really be missing out if they don't take us all.moxy wrote:Hahahahaha .. Re: UR 2/17 Penn Law???
I'm an URM w/ a 153 & 3.15 from a T10 Liberal Arts and have been under review since 2/17. You all seem like you have great stats I hope you get in!
I just had an interview at a T14 and am still waiting on Cornell, Fordham, Georgetown, NYU and Penn. By any measure I should have gotten dinged the first couple of weeks right? Should I be a little comforted that I haven't been? GW flat out rejected me after like 3 days but these other schools haven't yet. I would be interested to hear opinions.

Still 2/17. Walking down Chestnut when I get home from work to go make sure my application isn't being used to roll bongs, or whatever those damn kids do these days.

Re: UR 2/17 Penn Law???
I dont know that anything makes sense right now.
On the one hand, a 170 with a 3.7 should be an auto-admitt.
On the other a 153 and 3.2 should be an auto-reject even with URM
Im a 165/3.77 and I also think that should be an auot-reject.

Re: UR 2/17 Penn Law???
lol you are certainly not an auto-reject. Your LSAT puts you just below the 25% but your GPA puts you right below the 50% mark (which I know you know).psach44 wrote:I dont know that anything makes sense right now.

Nah, I wasn't fishing for assurance here...I was under impression Penn is SO LSAT score conscious that I'd have no shot.
Haven't heard of an NON- URM with my #'s get in...

Also, does anyone/everyone have the seat deposit line underneath their application fee? I don't remember when I noticed it but other schools don't show that. Just wanted to know if it was a uniform thing.

Re: UR 2/17 Penn Law???
Sorry,
It seems previous posters were correct, they are rejecting/waitlisting people first from the 3/15 and 3/19 group, and will now probably pitch everyone else together and select the best applicants from there. What that probably means is that the UR dates have no significant meaning, and are rather just batches of random applications grouped together.
I am starting to think that there will be one more group (from the rest of the 2/17ers who have no yet updated again), and there will be several rejected/waitlisted from there. Then, those who survived from 3/15, 3/17, and whatever the other date will be, will be considered together and we will get a mass amount of acceptances/waitlists. That might mean we won't hear any acceptances for another 2 weeks
