it's not what you think it is. i'm just trolling to get people who are on the fence about UIUC to not matriculate. I'm held and I need all the help I can get from UIUC. it's all in jest, though
Same. They said my app is on hold too :P

Late November - it had been a while with no movement.

I also got in at Loyola without great stats, still waiting on C-K. 3.5, 158. Good luck!

No stipulations for my Kent scholarship, with possibility to increase with good performance (obviously not something to bank on). Basically the exact opposite of DePaul.

Yeah, but the fact that its no stip still makes it a really great scholarship. Congrats!

$18k/year with no stipulations. Nice, but still a pretty huge amount of debt to attend. I'm going to withdraw this week. Good luck to the rest of you!

Anyone knows how to access the Entering Class Web site on Kent's website? I already have a myIIT login but it doesn't seem to work.

Their website suggests admitted students should be able to login: "Prospective students who have been admitted to the fall entering class are encouraged to visit the Entering Class Web site (password required) for information about special visit opportunities for admitted applicants."

I was accepted to Kent and was given a $2,000 scholarship. I like the fact that you can earn merit based scholarships after your first year :)

However, IDK if anyone has read the ABA press release but it does raise some questions about Kent unfortunately.

Also, got accepted to Drake with a $17,000 scholly, but don't know if I want to be a Iowan for the rest of my life lol. Has anyone tried to negotiate with Kent? I know Drake is a T3 compared to a T2 for Kent but would it be worth a shot to try and negotiate. (156/3.76)

I find it funny that graduates are suing their law schools over employment data. There is not a single degree in the world that will guarantee you a job after graduation. It helps to go to a good school but at the end of the day you have to be the one good enough to get hired. I wonder how much work the graduates who are suing really put into law school and what their grade reports really look like. Maybe they barely made it through...

I think the legal action is a result of a school telling applicant that over 90% of the grads get jobs, and then making 180k COA look like a good investment. An applicant should be more diligent by investigating the school a little bit more, but when the school itself is giving people faulty numbers people won't know any better. Also, an applicant might see a school charging a bunch of money and reason that the school knows the graduates will make a great deal of money, and that high tuition rates point to a good investment. Neither of these are true.

Ya, that is why I feel that some of these schools could make some sort of press release maybe explaining as much as they could about the situation. But I totally agree, there could be 10% of a graduating class who didn't even look for a job and now their sixth month grace period for their student loans are up and they realize they have $100k to pay and no job. There are many questions that arise out a situations like this.

Has anyone had a fast turnaround time than 1+ month? I went complete 1/25, but I've already heard back from Loyola and DePaul, so I'm surprised that Kent hasn't had much movement.

I applied in October and was accepted in January.
