Any thoughts on what may be going on beyond USPS incompetence?

I submitted my application on November 10, I think I got a complete e-mail on November 14, and nothing since.

Held for further review. With a note basically saying most ED apps were rejected and trying to convince me this was good. Anyone know whether us special "holds" ever get accepted?

On lawschoolnumbers there are students who have been accepted as late as July. I'm assuming later acceptances are holds.

July would most likely be folks who were wait listed and their spot was opened up by a hold person not accepting

Accepted this morning via phone call. They told me that a glitch in the computer system resulted in several EA emails not being sent out.

Yeah, most likely! I have in-state tuition and a lot of close family and friends nearby. Just gotta see what kinda money they throw at me.

+1. If the money isn't good enough--and it probably won't be with my numbers--I'll have to retake in June and reapply and get more money. Debt terrifies me.gaud wrote:Exactly what my decision will be based on.Jake5 wrote:Just gotta see what kinda money they throw at me.

Since you have been accepted, you may not need to reapply for more $$$. Last cycle, before I retook, a school that had accepted me said that they would adjust scholarship money accordingly from a new LSAT score. Not trying to pressure you into not taking a year off or anything, just letting you know that the option may exist.

I mean as long as they throw a little something my way, or match my offer from UofA, I'll be there. Tempe is a great place to be, and that, coupled with the family near by, makes ASU super appealing to me.

Anyone know where I can find data on ASU scholarships?? (merit-based)
LSN makes them appear sporadic and ASU's website doesn't seem to have any information regarding numbers.

My belief is that the students are notified so late in the cycle, many have stopped updating LSN. I am hopeful that the merit scholarships are dense then LSN shows.gaud wrote:Anyone know where I can find data on ASU scholarships?? (merit-based)

That didn't answer your question, but sometimes I feel like people really just want to hear my opinion.

Your opinion is definitely appreciated!! I'm totally looking for the thoughts of others on this, so thank you!
I think you have a great point regarding LSN applicants being notified so late that they stop updating... it would seem to account for the discrepancies of info.
I know that ASU tends to give out little $$ for 3L.. but that's all I really know.

Wait you were EA and you still haven't heard anything? No acceptance email or deferral email? I thought everyone had found out by now. Did only rejection notices go out through the mail?gaud wrote:ScoutFinch wrote:Nothing heregaud wrote:Any EA applicants received something in the mail yet?
Likewise. I've come to the conclusion that we'll probably be waiting until Saturday. EA candidates were supposed to hear by the end of January and we didn't hear until the 31st... so I'm assuming when they said "in the mail next week" that they meant "the latest possible day in the week".

No no no lol. I am EA and have been accepted via email. The email mentioned that we would recieve something in the mail this week... I'm just becoming increasingly impatient.

Same here! I'm waiting for scholarship information from several schools, and it's almost worse than waiting for a decision!gaud wrote:favrefire4 wrote:Wait you were EA and you still haven't heard anything? I hadn't heard back from them yet (problem with .edu email account) so I called this afternoon and spoke with the Dean Soto, who informed me that I was admitted. I hope to make it to one of the ASDs in the future, but I will probably just drop by on a spring break roadtrip. 160/3.9/military
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
