In February 2nd, 2012, 3.91GPA 163 LSAT, application went complete January 17th, submitted January 12th. No word on scholarships. December LSAT used. No additional essay required. Good luck everyone!
If it makes people feel better, I know two waitlisted 3Ls whom ended up getting in with 157/3.3 GPAs. They said a lot of wait listed end up in.

Man, I'm hoping I see some action soon too. I applied a few days after you.Katilicus wrote:In February 2nd, 2012, 3.91GPA 163 LSAT, application went complete January 17th, submitted January 12th. No word on scholarships. December LSAT used. No additional essay required. Good luck everyone!

Good luck! I'm sure you'll hear something soon. The thing I heard they do (or at least this is what my friends who are students there claim) is that they review applications on the basis of different categories, so sometimes people who apply the same day will receive decision further apart.vaguephoenix wrote:Anybody seeing movement? Waitlisted today. Received the letter. I'm a 3.76/152. So I thought I would be denied but a waitlist is a nice surprise.

How long does it usually take to hear back? The letter I got said summer. I'm not to up-to-date on waitlisting. Do you usually find out before you have to commit to another school?Katilicus wrote:In February 2nd, 2012, 3.91GPA 163 LSAT, application went complete January 17th, submitted January 12th. Judging by people I know who've been waitlisted, which is a smaller number, you hear right before school starts.tonymontana45 wrote:How long does it usually take to hear back? Re: Cincinnati 2011-2012 Cycle
From what I gather, the last round of invites pretty much goes out around April 1st, and then the wait listed begin to get their acceptances a few weeks after that. But that's really just what I've been told by students, so its speculation. I know of a wait listed student who heard middle of April. The problem with that is that a lot of schools, if you get accepted early, have a deadline for seat deposits around then.
Good luck on passing the wait list!

I don't know about UC, but in general, you have to commit to another school since they don't know if there's more room until deposit deadlines pass. You could hear if you're in at any time during the summer. And I know many people who've gotten in off waitlists at their reach schools, just be prepared to be persistent, offer a letter of continued interest, and interview if that becomes a possibility.tonymontana45 wrote:How long does it usually take to hear back? Thanks for the advice, one last question. You said you have to commit. So if I pay the seat deposits and I do get accepted into a waitlisted program, can I still change. I'm not bound by paying the deposits?cinephile wrote:I don't know about UC, but in general, you have to commit to another school since they don't know if there's more room until deposit deadlines pass. If accepted off the waitlist you would then pay your deposit. Each school has its own deposit dates/amounts/guidelines etc. UC has a single deposit ($250 I believe) which is partially refundable should you choose not to attend by a certain deadline.
Many schools offer partial deposit refunds but you would just have to check on dates and how much is refundable.

I mean, hypothetically, I pay a deposit to school "A" because I got in and haven't heard back from UC yet. Then I hear back from UC, say in June/July. I'm not bound to school "A" just because I paid the seat deposit, correct?cdelgado wrote:If accepted off the waitlist you would then pay your deposit. You would not be bound to that school though you may lose the money that you deposited. Some schools do the whole two deposit thing for this very reason to see if they lost students to other schools.tonymontana45 wrote:I mean, hypothetically, I pay a deposit to school "A" because I got in and haven't heard back from UC yet. I guess Cincinnati is being "stingy" at this point in the cycle. A little surprising.
