Has anyone had any success negotiating scholarships with Oregon?

Re: University of Oregon c/o 2015
So ... I received an email from a professor asking me if I had any questions about my acceptance today ... although I have not recieved an admissions packet or an email confirming admission from the University.
Intersting time line.
Good luck to those still waiting.

Unbelievably I am still waiting for an initial answer. This is the last school I am waiting for a response from now. Hope it comes any day as I have a Seattle deadline looming.
Is anyone else getting answers or invites from the waitlist? Maybe the class is settled now.

I actually forgot I applied to this school until I looked at my excel sheet.... Are they even giving money to people still?

Got my waitlist snail mail yesterday. Anyone else getting anything? I am wondering whether I should press hard to get off the waitlist or just let this one go.

What are your other options? LST says Oregon will be rough without substantial $$$. Beautiful, though.

The other comparable I am weighing is Seattle U summer start with $ - so not long to screw around waiting for waitlist acceptances.BarcaCrossesTheAlps wrote:robocall12 wrote:Got my waitlist snail mail yesterday. Any word on waitlist admits recently? No action on this topic in several weeks.

Re: University of Oregon c/o 2015
I got the same offer... my scholarship was tripled, effectively bringing my tuition below 20k...
This would be my cheapest offer and if this had been a month ago (before I decided to retake), I would have accepted it right away.
Well there's that and the fact that Portland is a very, very insular market...
But I've already started serious LSAT prep and am already PT-ing 10 points higher than my near-cold December score and I can't honestly consider giving up on an October retake without a full-ride...

Scholly upped again... to 20k/yr.
Getting a JD at Oregon will now cost a tad more per year than I paid to get my BA....
Really, really hard to make a decision at this point. Retake? Oregon JD for under 40k?

Oregon for under 40K is a pretty good deal. I'd take it (school strong in region for little debt) unless you think you can get into T14 if you retake.
edit: Unless you have a lot of existing debt already.

Re: University of Oregon c/o 2015
Problem is I took the LSAT unprepared and part of me keeps thinking I'm doing myself a disfavor by not taking it after seriously studying. But the manageable debt load I'll take on at Oregon (0 undergrad debt) would make my life a hell of a lot easier after graduation even if I don't end up with a "good" job.DCDuck wrote:Oregon for under 40K is a pretty good deal.
