Re: Berkeley not CR!
I've accepted my fate. In fact, I'm now considering just moving out to CA and applying next cycle for in-state...and even looking into graduate programs in the area as well. The whole thing just hit the fan. Ha, thanks Berkeley for not admitting me so I'd make a more informed, wiser decision.

I hate to think or say this, but Im having doubts on hearing back from Berkeley today evening. Rolling emails over early next week seem more likely.

What is the point of this? Assuming we're all destined for a ding - and I'd say it's about 20-1 odds that we are - why didn't they just ding us in the last few waves of dings? I mean, when they decided to not submit me, a 12/6 complete applicant, to CR1 or CR2, why didn't they just ding me right then?

Re: Berkeley not CR!
Ok this is my first time on one of these forums and I wish I had never clicked on this website because now I'm super freaked out after reading all the posts on here. Until today I didn't even know there was such a thing as CR notification, I figured you went from UR to admit/deny/wl.
I was wondering if people could reply with your application stats (LSAT/GPA) and the date you went under review so we can see if we really all are in the same boat?
I got the UR e-mail on Feb 8 (applied Feb 1.. late I know) and my stats are 172/3.64 (just hoping not to get rejected before April because my GPA is going up.. one bad year is bringing it down, last two years I have 4.0). I'm also a Canadian student but I don't think that makes any difference.

Yeah. I mean, including us on the mass ding email would have taken no effort at all.

Was there already a mass ding e-mail? / When did it get sent out?whitman wrote:Yeah. I mean, including us on the mass ding email would have taken no effort at all.
The only logical explanation I can think of is that they just actually haven't looked over our files yet, even once... Could be possible I submitted on the Feb 1 deadline, don't know about everyone else though.

I submitted back in November and my UR date is in November. They have got to have looked at my file by now.jeng wrote:Was there already a mass ding e-mail? / When did it get sent out?whitman wrote:Yeah. I mean, including us on the mass ding email would have taken no effort at all.

But yeah, if they were going to make me wait this long, just to be dinged, I wish they had just dinged me with the first batch of mass rejections.

Re: Berkeley not CR!
The other thread is transitioning from people waiting for a decision to accepted students talking about visiting/attending/aid. It's rather depressing from this side of the fence

pretty sure no one likes LOCI´s until you get some kind of answer from them.swl56 wrote:berkeley doesn't really like LOCIs right? so there's nothing we can even try to do about where we're headed...?

I agree. Considering that the party (ASW) is all set and we aren't invited to yet may be some indicator of what to expect. Did anyone consider that they just simply ran out of spaces to admit more ppl? Maybe they received a lot more early applications than the late UR 2/9 types. Im pretty sure my app hasnt even been reviewed yet.
I also know that Dean Tom does make phone calls as late as March 10 to inform students that they have been admitted. So that may keep ones hopes up. So if you havent heard yet, you just might see a Berkeley number on your caller IDs around March 10.

Re: Berkeley not CR!
oh. "A decision has been reached 3/1/11"
Since I have yet to be called, I am guessing this is a WL or a ding.
oh just read the top:
"After reviewing thoroughly your application for admission to UC Berkeley School of Law, the Admissions Committee has decided, with regret, not to offer you a place in the Class of 2014. We wish you all the best in your applications to other law schools and in your career. Thank you very much for your interest in Berkeley Law and for entrusting us with your application. A letter will be e-mailed to you in the next 24 hours."
