I hope I'm not undermining the reason for the PM here, but I want to note that it concerns the authority of the information which JD presented not additional details of the hold scenario.

Edit: in other words, just trust that the hold is different (yes, just different... that's it) and give dubya a break.

Thank you! Could this change in how holds are used (and the possibe increase in overall holds) be more fuel for speculation regarding the decrease in applications this year? Or unrelated?

I apologize to everyone who thought that I found some sort of magic lamp or something. Basically the hold is different this year. That's all I know. Literally that's what I was told. Those who were PMed just found out how I know, which really doesn't matter anyhow.

Why dont you just say what you know on the thread. Unless you broke into the admissions office and read a secret memo, I think it will be OK. And if that is indeed the case, and all you know are the words "hold... different" i would be pretty dissapointed.

Basically--the holds are different this year. The only other real info in the PM concerned JD2014's source.

Can't say because it would reveal my secret identity as Batman to any potentially lurking admissions officers and I am a paranoid schizophrenic.

I did not break into the admissions office. They left it unlocked and I wandered in while no one was looking. Completely legal.

yeah i sent it at 7:30 pm and got a confirmation first thing the next morning.
