Are there laws against certain schools giving decisions via phone or email? I don't know why I feel like I read that somewhere.

I was under review on 11/29, but my status hasn't changed yet. My numbers are solid, but I'm starting to freak out. Anyone in similar shoes?

What are your numbers i got in with 2.9 and 167. I think my LSAT was enough for them to overlook my piss poor GPA.

No idea, but don't expect much because UH is incredibly stingy.aquyenl wrote:anyone know when we hear about scholarship information?

Actually, I looked at LSN for last year and only one person had the date listed for when they got the scholly. They were accepted in Dec, but didn't get the scholly till March so it looks like we probably have a while to wait, unfortunately.

I didn't get notified of my scholarship until march. That was three cycles ago though, so no idea if they changed their policies.

At this point, it looks like there is a general trend of only acceptances for LSATs near or above their 75 %. Anyone seen exceptions yet?

I will support your theory. I'm at 75% GPA, median LSAT, and hearing crickets...Mce252 wrote:At this point, it looks like there is a general trend of only acceptances for LSATs near or above their 75 %. Anyone seen exceptions yet?

Re: University of Houston 2011
Is this an appropriate time to discuss UofH Big Law and business prospects? I feel like for its ranking, UH has some of the best career prospects around, and I'll be pretty dang pumped about it if I get in. Someone mentioned in a different thread that top 15-25% has a decent shot at BigLaw, and if you strike out there, you still have a ton of big business in the area. Plus, Houston mid-law has got to be decent.
Also, I know that career prospects at graduation are quite limited to the Houston area, but do you think your degree becomes much more portable if you've landed in a big firm or company?

Yes, I think you're degree would become more portable if you start out at a firm that is known nationally. I would guess that the legal realm would be similar to any other industry. You're first job is dependent upon your success in school and then it becomes about experience and who you know.
