Re: IOWA 2011
I got the acceptance letter in the mail today. Be warned because it is a regular envelope that looks like a rejection letter. I am confused by one paragraph though, "We need a complete official transcript from Allegheny College (my undergrad) showing conferral of your degree. Your transcript must be received in the Office of Admissions prior to registration." Wasn't this the whole point of the LSAC Credential Assembly Service, so that I wouldn't have to send transcripts to individual schools? Does anyone else have this in their letter?

The transcript was required last year too. I think the version from your LSDAS report isn't official, hence the need for a direct copy from your undergraduate institution.Trip Coker wrote:I got the acceptance letter in the mail today. Thanks for the info. One more thing to add to the to-do-list.JOThompson wrote:The transcript was required last year too. I think this is a normal procedure for most law schools before you matriculate. Some of the other acceptance letters I've gotten also specify that before you enroll you must send an official transcript to the law school. Other examples of stuff some schools require include some sending a small picture of yourself (i imagine for roll call?) and completion of specific forms for intent to enroll along with your deposits.Trip Coker wrote:Thanks for the info. In Review as of 11/30, Decision Rendered as of this morning, 12/3! That's a quick turnaround... Any idea when I'll hear what that decision is?

Re: IOWA 2011
on LSN it looks like most of last year's rejections came in March. Although a lot of people didn't update the date so I'm not sure how accurate that is.tea_drinker wrote:Do we know when U Iowa starts sending out rejections?

Re: IOWA 2011
Wait they dont send out decisions in batches? They just send out acceptances and hold applications that are going to be rejected until later? I guess I'll be waiting awhile then.

Thanks. Yeah, I searched on LSN and didn't get a lot of data, so I asked if anyone here knows more about it. I hope you are right.lifestooquick wrote:on LSN it looks like most of last year's rejections came in March. Sounds like 5-10 days after your acceptance letter.
Anyone know of a way to find out my decision before getting the letter? Iowa City, Iowa to Seattle, WA is a LONG way for mail to travel, meaning I have to wait until probably Wed or Thursday to find out even though I KNOW a decision has been made!

Yep, decision rendered 12/2. Said I should get a letter on Wed or Thurs, with a packet including tuition, scholarships, etc. coming about 2 weeks later.

Congrats to all the recent admits! I hope to see you guys here in March for ASW!
P.S.
If you guys have questions and the other 1L's are MIA or otherwise busy, you can send me a PM. I don't really check TLS that much, but PM's send me e-mails which I do check regularly.
