Switched to UR 12/3. Was also part of the admitted glitch. Hopefully a (real) decision comes soon...

actually, i have no idea if i was part of the fake out or not, as i was not obsessively refreshing status checkers those days. i wish i would have checked: i want to know if i'm an outlier or part of the group (you all seem to be a group of highly likely admits!).scruffs mcguff wrote:Of the people who have their "in review" date changed to 12/3: Did you get the acceptance glitch on the status checker a week or so ago?

I was just accepted through Binding Early Decision, and am very happy. I will tell you it was not my LSAT that helped me.

I was notified by phone. I wasn't expecting that. I always pictured the classic getting the letter in the mail situation, ya know. Caught me off guard. He told me, and I swear things went in slow mo. I couldn't hear what he was saying after the words "You've been accepted..." I had to have him repeat it. Then I asked him to make sure that he was from the University of Minnesota. He assured me he was. The call was short, and I muddled through it. But I got confirmation through the online status page. So, yeah...this is pretty much a dream come true.

I was under the impression that UMinn is VERY hard to get into without a 167+. The URM and ED must have helped a lot. Congrats man, hope to meet you next fall! Now if they'd just send me my decision...

Re: Minnesota 2011
I checked and yes, that is what I saw as well. Apparently, they have a 6% acceptance rate. I tried to do everything possible to better my odds. Early Admission helped me tremendously. Less competitive pool of applicants, plus the message that I was very serious about wanting to attend that school probably helped. Also, my personal statement, which I found out afterward, was tailored to their specifications. I spoke at length as to why I wanted to go to UMinn. Either way, I feel extremely fortunate. I wish the best of luck to you too, man.chrisbru wrote:Aggiegrad2011 wrote:155? URM???

I applied ED and got accepted to the University of Minnesota!! I was also part of the group with the "glitch" on Monday, but then on Tuesday got a call from the admissions office! I didn't have the 167+ LSAT either.
