I hope I've got some opinions for you soon! haha, I got a full ride to st. john's too, and am hoping to hear from Cardozo soon, my app has been complete. I posed this question, as a hypothetical, to my cousin who has his own practice in NY, and he said take the money at St. Johns. But I suppose there are more factors i.e-- are you commuting, and how much money from the better school. So Im not sure-- I'll let you know when I hear.

I'm really excited about Cardozo! There is a certain energy about the school that is missing from Brooklyn.
Beware that the "admissions packet" consists of a wrapper that is like the stuff a hard drive comes in and a thin "viewbook-style" packet with 3 folds and an acceptance letter and scholarship information (if applicable). It's quite possibly the most chintzy, depressing acceptance packet I've gotten. McGeorge's was 500x better. You'd think from a school that costs as much as Cardozo does, their admissions packet would be a lot nicer, you know? =[
I was SO excited when I opened the mail, and about 30 seconds after looking at it, I'm like... wow.

Not to soil your accomplishment but don't get your hopes up too high for a cool admissions packet. I wish someone had told me that what I was waiting for was barely bigger than a friggin' mailing advertisement.
No offense, but when I get acceptance letters i try not to fret about the packaging of the acceptance...

Damn. I was hoping they would have started looking at us May-ers earlier...oh well.
Thanks for the info.

They just emailed me saying my application was being held. I'm a little surprised…
Does anyone know how likely someone is to get a scholarship if they get accepted from the hold pile?

Just got the email- on hold. Kind of surprised. 167/ 3.4 Is this better/worse than a waitlist?

I got the email for on hold too. I was pretty surprised, I got a full ride at St. johns which is only 20 rankings lower so the idea of not even getting IN kinda hit me like a ton of bricks.
What does a hold even mean-- Is it better than wait list? And are my chances of getting money there completely gone?

I agree about the vibe compared to Brooklyn, was put on hold today with a 165/2.7

So I got the hold email this afternoon but when I checked the online status check, it says that a decision has been reached and mailed.
Does a hold count as a decision?! If not... I think I just got rejected :'(

Does Cardozo have a thing for softs or something? It seems like some (a lot?) of the people that got in with the first batch of acceptances had lesser numbers than the people who are being held now.

I'm gonna go ahead and speculate that some of us that were held with higher numbers were held, not because of our numbers, but because they probably assumed we were applying there as a safety and they want to keep their yield percentage up. With that said, if you are really considering Cardozo I would send a LOCI immediately. I have not done but am leaning to sending one this weekend.

Is there a difference between being waitlisted and placed on hold at Cardozo?

wondering the same thing. Just got the 'on hold' email also. I already wrote 2 paragraphs about why I wanted to study at Cardozo in my personal statement, so I doubt it's YP. Any suggestions on what I should do?

had no idea they also do phone interviews. Interesting. Good luck. Probably a good sign you didn't hear anything today, since it seems they put a lot of people on hold/ waitlist.

Got the wait list email 10 minutes ago. 2.9/165, not surprised seeing as there as those with better numbers also being wait listed. Will send LOCI. I wonder what the difference is between the wait list and a hold?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
