Ha, no not a flame. Had like a 3 min conversation with [Can't remember] Clifford. 314 area code. Very nice and I asked her about ASD. Also, she said their scholarship budget doesn't come out til mid-Feb so it will be a while on that.

What were your submit, complete and UR dates?

Submitted on 10/11 (I think), waited forever to hear something on the radar like everyone else, got the complete/status checker on like 11/11, and then the status checker updated to 11/23 and I got the call at 12:00 pm CST.

I swear I am not trying to be all "ahaha yay me!" so please don't read it that way, but am I the only one who got a phone call? Cause I would be more confused than special-feeling if that were the case. Does me being a local have anything to do with it? I was expecting a lot more people to check in with calls by now...

FWIW, I'm local and haven't heard anything (and my UR date is stuck at 11/10). My numbers are decent for WUSTL (170/3.4), but I'm not exactly in full-ride territory either. Congrats.

I went UR 11/10 but submitted a few weeks after you. My guess is you were near the top of the stack of auto-admits and bc you are local the school wanted to reach out to try to convince you to go. Those little touches can make the difference and they know that.

Well I have an ED app out to Duke, so that obviously takes precedence over everything else. If that doesn't work out, Vandy is my second choice- though I'd definitely have to carefully weigh any other offers (and scholarships). I'm expecting the standard $10k/year splitter scholly from WUSTL, which I would take over W&M.

Why would I take it over W&M? Mostly because I'm a native St. Louisan and most of my friends and family are in the area. WUSTL also has a much better safety net (St. Louis) and marginally better job prospects. Nothin against W&M, but the $10k scholarship was just kinda... meh.

Haha, maybe I'm just an asshole, but I wasn't. Law schools see me as a number, so I feel somewhat justified in viewing their acceptances/scholarships as just numbers. And in the case of W&M, I'm excited that I got accepted (particularly since it was my first acceptance), but the overall cost/benefit analysis is a little underwhelming.
