LOL! When I first read this I thought it was a direct snub at me (I posted in another thread that my dad just bought me a new car this weekend- Audi a6). I will need to ask him what part of Pittsburgh we lived in... I don't remember because I was just in grade school.

Just wondering as an out of state applicant (Florida) if there is a good chunk of out of staters in your experience (beyond the bordering states)?

Additionally, is the Health Law program well-respected/utilized? It seems like a very thorough program they have, and is one of the major reasons I'm considering applying.

Quite a few out of state/region folks. In my 1L section alone there were 3 or 4 (that I know of) from Texas, a few from Florida....I know some from Colorado, a few Californians, Georgia, Arizona, Connecticut, etc. If I had to guess I'd say 20-30 percent were form outside the region. If you're concerned about being one of the only people not native to the area, I wouldn't worry about.

I'm not in the health law program myself, but I hear good things. Every semester there seems to be a number of health-related classes offered. I believe there's also a health law clinic and health law certificate program. Also, there's a journal of Environmental & Public Health law. Pittsburgh is a very "medically oriented" town (University of Pittsburgh Medical Centers are everywhere.) In town, I'm sure the program is well respected. I don't know how it is viewed in other places.

I'm originally from out of state, as are a large percentage of my friends. Most of them are from neighboring states, but I'm from the west coast.

Not at all bashing your #s because they are good, but I don't think there is even a chance you would be YP'd.

LOL. No offense taken! If you come from Wexford, PA you are raised with an undeserved sense that you are better than everyone else. It takes a while for the real world to beat that out of you. This whole law school application process is helping though. WL'd at W&L. I am not a beautiful and unique snowflake
