Just a guess but by being an ED candidate I imagine most scholly options are out---they already have you...congrats to those accepted!

This is pretty much what I was thinking as well. Looking at last years thread, scholarship info was sent with the acceptance letter.

I saw ND lose once this year and that is enough for me.

I actually got to see them win. Thanks for sucking PU! I did have the unfortunate experience of seeing them lose to the 'Cuse a few years ago.

Numbers? And did you write the "Why ND" essay?

Edit: Were you ED or RD?

I think all of your questions are answered in a previous thread by andythefir:

I don't think this will answer it. This is the first year that ND's ED application is binding. In previous years, it was non-binding with a response required by February or thereabouts. This will certainly impact how ND hands out money.

Edit: Didn't read everything. My bad. It answers some of it. I'm just curious as to how the new ED app will impact things.

Yeah---this does seem to give a hint of a new scholarship structure/amount---maybe bigger scholarships for some and smaller for others instead of the standard 18/22 from the past--looking at the other blog it seems this person may have lost out on a lot of schollly money by applying as a binding ED candidate...but congrats on the admit

I realize more and more that Notre Dame is a school that I would REALLY enjoy going to (considering my Catholic/Italian background). Am I late to apply and have a good shot? my numbers are 3.7/166. I have a strong PS/DS and am working on my Why Notre Dame essay. What do you guys think?

3.7 is above gpa median, and 166 is only 1 point below the lsat median. should have a decent shot.

I'm sure plenty of people incorporate Catholicism into their "Why Notre Dame?" essay. I find it highly unoriginal. There are "X" number of Catholic legal institutions, why don't you apply there instead? Answer that and you could still salvage a respectable essay.

Do you keep confusing ND with another school? The median GPA is 3.57. The poster with 166/3.7 is only one point below the median LSAT, comfortably above median GPA and only slightly below the 75th percentile GPA (3.73).
I agree, though, can't hurt. ;)

Notification came in a flat rate envelope with a few fliers and the rear-window sticker. My numbers are 3.94/162 native, did ED, wrote a why ND on being Catholic in an antagonistic state school, personal statement on my commitment to public service. Both letters of recommendation specifically mentioned ND, only school I applied to. Submitted on 10-4, complete at the end of the month. Couldn't be happier.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
