BTW dook has nearly no academic standards for their athletes, at least in the revenue sports (unlike NU and Stanford)

Northwestern doesn't have nearly as good sports as Stanford or Duke. Then again, Duke can't touch Stanford either.

Good publics with good sports (Michigan, Cal, UNC) don't have any standards whatsoever for their athletes.

Dook's lacrosse is pretty good (no need to make jokes). Their basketball program is good at getting knocked off early in the tourney.

Credited. I was thinking about sports that people care about / get press coverage and money. But their lacrosse team is good. My school, for instance, is arguably the best in the nation at Cross Country and definitely the best at Skiing, but no one really cares, I've found.

I can only hope Duke basketball continues to blow.

clearly none of you have paid any attention to acc basketball this season. i'm fairly certain a team ranked first in their conference and fifth in the nation doesn't "blow." stanford isn't even .500 right now, let alone ranked. not that i'm hating on stanford, given their head coach is really a blue devil and all.

Eh. Even though SLS probably would have been my first choice among HYS, I think Yale wins in the "cool/interesting people" category. That's the general perception, anyway.

eh NU is top 30 in the directors cup almost every year and their revenue sports are at least as good as stanford
