Waitlisted at Penn today.. expect a hold letter from NYU by Saturday. Man this is going to be a crappy week.

Is there even a single NYU ED'er that still has hope?!!

Self-tar?

If yes, a/s/l?
Sorry, I'm new here. What does that mean?
Oh geez I just laughed out loud on TLS :(

OK, I just Googled a/s/l and I agree, very funny. Yes, it's my "self-tar" to the extent that we were having a little fun with a camera and my little sister's Barbie styling head. If you find yourself attracted to my avatar KittenMittons, I would recommend the checking out the Real Doll -- they are much more flexible. :D

I have all sorts of false hope. Does that count?

This whole batch of ED letters were sent out on the 9th. Every person has either been rejected or held. I am one of those 9th people (called and found out) so I'm guessing a similar fate. But I can always hope. And hope the USPS did not lose it.

Nope, not at all. NYU is slow as molasses.
When would it be reasonable to expect to hear from them? I just want to confirm they received my application without any trouble.

Maybe shortly after the New Year. I think that they are very busy with decisions right now.

Nope...but they will let you know whether or not they've made a decision on your application and mailed it out.

I tried that....then they resort to a lecture about how its the applicant's responsibility to provide a suitable address, or something to that effect.

I think they're really really rigid about this, so there isn't much use trying.

For those 12/8 completions, when do people expect to begin hearing results?

I'm complete since 11/3, and haven't heard anything, so I'd guess a long time.

Are you sure they were sent/postmarked on the 9th? If the letter was merely dated 12/9, that doesn't tell us when it was sent. Maybe people who got those 12/9 letters could give this information.

OH... They said the decision was made on the 9th and the letter was sent but I did not get a send day. Maybe mine was the 12th too. Now I'm not too upset. But still dreading the impending hold.

Any hope for us if the decision was postmarked later than the 9th?
