Re: Northwestern c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
Hi everyone, my fiancé and I are trying to end up at the same school, and we have both decided Northwestern could be a good choice for both of us. I see the deadline is in about a week so I was just wondering if my chances are ruined for admission/scholarships at this point or if I should go for it.
I'm already in at Michigan and UVA so I think my application is good, I just wasn't sure if submitting this late will hurt me.

It's been a slower cycle. So go for it.amberb94 wrote:Hi everyone, my fiancé and I are trying to end up at the same school, and we have both decided Northwestern could be a good choice for both of us. Well he's applying for a master's, not law school. So he just heard from his first program yesterday. We just want to have as many good options as possible and I guess we just decided it would be nice to add one more good school to the list.hellohalo wrote:It's been a slower cycle. Thank you! I am a splitter too, and was waitlisted from the ED held, nearly 5 months after I applied!!yyyuppp wrote:i got in off the waitlist last july as a super splitter. anyone can feel free to PM me if you have any questions. fyi: they didn't offer me any money.
A general question if you don't mind answering in the post (I thought other people on the forum may be interested to know as well):
Do you still get any merit-aid/financial aid if you are admitted late? Would you still be able to negotiate scholarship?

I didn't get any aid. I've definitely seen other people get $$ off the wl in previous years threads and on lsn though, so it is possible I'm guessing . I'm not sure what the negotiation would look like for that- when they sent me a feeler email before I got admitted, they were clear that I wouldn't be getting any merit aid.proteinshake wrote:I think pipi is asking if it's a possibilitycurry1 wrote:pipipipi wrote:Thank you! Applied ED, waitlisted last night. My numbers were rgiht around median but I think that I didn't express enough interest in the school to get in. No Why essays or anything.

Went DLS today, but letter is not available via the decision delivery system yet. No deposits shown at the bottom so assuming it will be a WL/Ding. Median Applicant that applied in October. If you were not in yesterdays wave it may be worth checking.

Still "application complete" for me. Do the status trackers update at once? Or could WL/ding still come today?
