Re: Chicago Law School c/o 2018 Applicants
Had my interview on 3/20. I was thrown off by the questions, because they really focused on my undergrad experience. I graduated 5 years ago, and have pretty unique and extensive work experience... so... I didn't prepared much for those questions. The questions did not deviate from the list though!

Got my WL email six weeks ago, and didn't realize there was a deadline for the additional essay. What's the consensus on submitting after the deadline?

She was very affable.zhenders wrote:I had this same question for my interview on 3/18. I don't think that question was noted anywhere else in this forum -- it surprised me a bit too. Sounds like you addressed something that you've given personal thought to -- I got the impression that's really what that question was looking for.Oskosh wrote:Interview Scheduled 3/11
Under Review (final?) today 3/20
They asked me a curveball question. Well, maybe I didn't research thoroughly. They asked what current issue -- national or international -- deserved our collective attention. Ugh, I was really thrown off by that.
I enjoyed the interviewer; I suspect we had the same person. Overall super-pleasant experience. I went back to UR 3/19.

Question:
My interview was yesterday, and I believe it said UR 3/20.
I go to the SC page today, and it now says UR 3/21. I vaguely recall it being 3/20 yesterday (after all, I did see that my status changed from Interview Scheduled to UR)... Does anybody know what this means?

Same thing happening with me. I think this is normal. It's probable we won't hear anything substantial for another 2 weeksOskosh wrote:Question:

Re: Chicago Law School c/o 2018 Applicants
According to the SC, it's meant to signify that the interview has been complete?
This is how my Chicago application went:
UR1 (2/3)
Interview Request (3/10)
Interview Scheduled (3/11)
Under Review 2 (3/20)
Under Review 3 (3/21)
Is that how it goes? I might have missed an "UR" update in between UR1, although I believe that I almost always checked my SC religiously.

Yeah, UR3 means the second committee review of your app. Once your app goes UR4, you know the decision is coming within a few days.

Not true. I sat on UR4 in late December until I was accepted in Feb (IIRC hillz and a couple others had this too). Granted it's probably moving quicker now but I think they send decisions in order of complete date rather than UR date.leslieknope wrote:Yeah, UR3 means the second committee review of your app. Once your app goes UR4, you know the decision is coming within a few days.

The email says additional essays must be submitted by a certain date (mine was exactly a month from when I received the email).usn26 wrote:There's a deadline?Lightworks wrote:Got my WL email six weeks ago, and didn't realize there was a deadline for the additional essay. UR3 as of today as well; in reading through the spreadsheet, it looks like for most/all of the interviews reported there that happened mid-January or later, the decision came pretty fast (a week to three weeks). No guarantee, obviously -- but that looks like how the data trend.
Best of luck, all! The slow drip will be off of our foreheads one way or another soon enough.

LSAT at 75th & 25th<GPA<median
02/07: Submit
02/12: Complete
02/14: Under Review
02/24: Invitation to Interview
03/06: Did a skype interview/date change
03/16: Date change
03/17: Admit via e-mail
Interview questions I got (not in the exact order, it's been a while..)
Why did you choose your undergraduate school?
What are the qualities/characteristics you're looking for in choose a law school?
What are you currently doing?
Have you ever been out of your comfort zone? What did you learn?
What do you do in your free time?
How would your peers describe you?
Which person do you admire the most?
I had a couple more questions but I don't remember
The interviewer was super nice and friendly, and interview was quite casual. But she seemed a little bored and distracted toward the end, especially since the moment I kind of rambled on one of the questions that came up later in the interview. I'm not sure if the admissions cycle is still not over at UChicago, but hope this helps anyone who may need it! Oh and 90% of the questions I got was on the list I found in some thread of UChicago applicants talking about the interview. I lost the link unfortunately
Congratulations and good luck everyone!

I'll add to this
stats almost identical to above.
I had the question, "what would you say is the hardest thing you've ever had to do?"
I also received the question, "what piece of writing are you most proud of, and why?"
=) best of luck to all.

Bringing this back to page one: who out there's still waiting on a decision? Mylsn suggests we might get some movement at the beginning of April. In at Columbia (and I've got a big crush on it, especially after speaking with my interviewer), but Chicago's still got my heart.

I'm with you there -- complete in early February; we definitely haven't had the excruciating wait that so many people have lived through. Cheers; best of luck!Yaaaas2013 wrote:

Same here. Submitted early Feb, marked complete early March, only recently moved onto review. My stats are low so I'm 99.9% expecting a rejection.Yaaaas2013 wrote:*waves* complete back in January.
