Yup, mine took 10 days, and the complete email wasn't for another 2 days after that.rseaney wrote:Btw folks I submitted a week ago and haven't yet gone complete. Has that been roughly the norm this cycle? With the weekend coming up, it's looking like it'll be a minimum of ten days between submission and completion.

Hard to say. Makes sense to wait until tomorrow anyway to give time for the people just receiving the invites (of which I assume there are more) to sign up, which should make for a clearer picture.ravel wrote:One of us can't count (or both).LetsGoMets wrote:I count 36 now - 7 on 12/16, 12 on 12/17, 17 on 12/18. Just received JS 1 around 5:10. Submitted on 11/14. LSAT > 75%, GPA 25%-50%. I made an interview appointment a few minutes ago, which might explain why it went to 35.

Down to 32 now. I dub this a "wavelet." Congrats again to today's JS1s!

Hypothetical question: does anybody know what happens if you miss the JS2 call? I'll be without phone access for an extended period of time so I'm wondering if they follow up with an email later that day?

I've wondered the same thing. I work 7-5 in a basement, so the call likely won't even go through.ElizabethKB wrote:Hypothetical question: does anybody know what happens if you miss the JS2 call? Congrats to the new JS1s!
So there are still spots available for interviews next week? Isn't that a really quick turnaround? I always thought it was a 1-2 week wait between your JS1 request and actual interview.

They'll leave a voicemail and send an e-mail in the days after to confirm.DetroitRed wrote:I've wondered the same thing. I've never seen a turnaround this short, but everything else is different this year, so why not?pylon wrote:Congrats to the new JS1s!

Re: Harvard c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 Cycle)
Here's my baseless speculation:
This year, Harvard has been generally issuing JS1s based on people with LSAT and/or GPA above their medians, not on rolling applications. Within the last couple of years (according to LSN) URMs with LSAT scores between 160-168 were getting JS1s this early in the game and given JS2s in Dec., given that they were to submit their applications this early. However this year this does not seem to be the case, as those with above the medians scores/gpas, even if they are submitting later than applicants with lower numbers whom in the past have been given JS1s and later JS2s early, are receiving JS1s before they do.
AKA: Harvard is now reviewing applications based on scores/gpas opposed to what they used to do in past cycles, rolling applications. This is why JS1s are being given on short notice (pm those who received them for their stats - and btw congrats!) and why there are slots open before the week they tend to give out JS2s (Dec. 22nd/23rd)
Okay, you can all argue against this now

Re: Harvard c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 Cycle)
I agree, and believe it is the trend with most schools so far. Seems that every school is trying to accept high numbers quickly. I think this is the reaction to the numbers we have seen on the drops in applicants, and the distribution of scores. Schools are trying to solidify high numbers now, and will start with lower numbers when they are comfortable with where they are number wise and can see the broader picture on what the numbers look like in their applicant pool.nejlas wrote:Here's my baseless speculation:

I can argue against the above. I'm above both 75ths and there have been people who've gone complete at the same time/after me getting JS1s in the last three waves.

Are you K-JD?
ETA: I see from your post history that you are. I think the above comments about HLS' priorities this cycle are accurate, with the caveat that HLS seems to be warier than usual of K-JDs this year. I have no idea why that is, but TLS/LSN data seems to indicate it.

K-JD, complete late october, above both medians. Still early, but definitely not a good feeling.

I've been off TLS for a few weeks, finals are a crazy thing.
Came back here to see how many JS2 waves there have been.

I agree with most of the line of thought, but just feel like the bolded isn't anything unique to this cycle. Every school every year generally accepts high numbers quickly.Dream_weaver32 wrote: I agree, and believe it is the trend with most schools so far.
