Re: Georgetown c/o 2018 Applicants
For alum interviews is it the basic Why Georgetown, Why Law, Resume type stuff or do they include curveballs?

Yes. There can also be the occasional "motherf$cker," or "Do you believe in God?" thrown in there, so be prepared.keosu11 wrote:For alum interviews is it the basic Why Georgetown, Why Law, Resume type stuff or do they include curveballs?

I'm 3.6X/170 and I got a request about a week ago. Maybe it's a splitter thing?NoBladesNoBows wrote:So I got an alumni interview request yesterday, which I assumed was a good thing, but now I'm a bit worried after reading through this thread. It seems like the consensus is that interviews are for borderline or yp applicants, but does anyone have any idea which it would be for a splitter? I'm pretty heavy (3.4/172) which I would have normally assumed I was borderline, but with the recent hunt for LSAT scores I'm keeping hope alive that it's yp. Any thoughts?

For those that do not want to interview tell them you know a guy (me) that will take your spot. I fail to see how being asked for an interview is anything other than a good thing for someone who really wants to attend.

Haha thanks. Don't stress too much about WHY you got the interview request. Just go do it and don't be weird.

a straight up admission without an interview is clearly betterGrunt2Grad wrote:For those that do not want to interview tell them you know a guy (me) that will take your spot. I fail to see how being asked for an interview is anything other than a good thing for someone who really wants to attend.

Long time lurker, first time poster . . .
wondering if anyone who applied ED has a rough timeline of their response? went complete 1/13/15 but no word, interview request, etc.
Today is the 3-week mark, but judging from other posts that's not a hard and fast rule. Getting ansy!

Went complete 1/5. Also radio silence until I called admissions yesterday and she told me that I was still under review and "might hear soon"

Hmm I doubt it harmed you but they generally advise against doing that because the admissions people get annoyed. I wouldn't do it for any other schools though. Hopefully in your case they will take it as demonstrated interest.carolinagirl723 wrote:Grunt2Grad wrote:Went complete the day after you and its been radio silence for me as well.ATLITIG91 wrote:Long time lurker, first time poster . . .

Oh, my bad, I didn't get all the facts first.Gray wrote:^^ I think it was because they were past the ED decision deadline by a week or so? In which case, probably ok to call. Not advisable, but ok.

Yeah it was over a week past the ED decision deadline..first and only time contacting a school about status (also a 2 min. convo) so I don't think I could be classified as really annoying? She didn't seem to feel that way, and told me that she would make note of my continued interest.Gray wrote:No no I don't think it was 100% clear from their post. They still might just be a really annoying person.ticklemesilly wrote:Oh, my bad, I didn't get all the facts first.Gray wrote:^^ I think it was because they were past the ED decision deadline by a week or so? So it's been more than 3 weeks since my group interview--that was the time-frame given by the dean for receiving a decision.
Radio silence.
Radio silence.

Seems like their deadlines are more like rough estimates. Don't give up hope yet.Eladriel wrote:So it's been more than 3 weeks since my group interview--that was the time-frame given by the dean for receiving a decision.
