Dear USC,

If you gave me a Rothman, not only would I accept the offer immediately I will gladly get a Rothman tramp stamp tattoo. I am a guy.

Signed,

I think first born son would be a better offering than the tramp stamp. But i guess it's better to start low and have them counter offer.

I toured both USC and UCLA this last week. My impresions are posted on the UCLA applicants thread....
Loved both schools, accepted at both. It will be a very tough choice.

Invited to both the general LA reception tonight and the reception on Tues for admitted students from USC undergrad at the deans house.

Redundant/awkward to attend both? Considering it.

Just attended the LA reception. Fancy schmancy... PM me if you have any questions/want to know more about what went down but it was basically a big networking event with faculty, alumni, and admitted students. Part of it made me love USC more (read: the AMAZING faculty) and part of it made me annoyed (read: lots of snootiness).

Can you expand on the snootiness and kiss assery for those of us who couldn't attend?
For what it's worth, I didn't detect any abnormal levels of snootiness. It was a standard Beverly Hills event, and they asked people to come in business attire. The hosts were really nice and down-to-earth. I think the "1000%" figure is a complete overstatement.
Yeah, I edited my statement because that was a little harsh. I think it was just a personal thing, because I'm not a huge networking/schmoozing/showing off my designer clothes kind of person. Honestly though, you're right. The hosts were fantastic and completely down to earth. And I loved the faculty and all of the current students I talked to. It was much more of a positive than a negative for me, but I just thought it felt like too much of an open house or something where you get wined and dined into buying a house that is too expensive for you in the first place.

Just attended the reception as well. And not trying to be critical but just calling a spade a spade: if dressing up and mingling with successful people is really that painful then working in the legal field is going to drive you insane.

I loved the reception. It's these types of things that set USC apart from UCLA in my opinion. The alumni are all dedicated to giving back and it has a personal touch. They definitely jumped a notch in my book tonight.

I attended the private reception as well. I couldn't really determine the scope of their invites... I know it was for LA locals because the dean said so, but besides that, I don't know if it was for scholarship recipients or just anyone in general. There weren't that many admits present.

I went complete 1/2. But I believe there were people from before me that still were complete as well.

First committee read today as well. Complete 12/19 and today is the first update I've had since. You might be waiting another month!

Really? Does this mean I should LOCI??

167/3.4 double major econ (grades weighted to a c in econ major)

I went complete around Thanksgiving and CR1 on Feb/18.

I really want to stay in Cali. In at GW, Hastings, Miami (dual MM degree), Fordham, and still waiting on nyu, duke, cornell, usc, ucla.

Should I be sending LOCI to these schools? All applied to all of them around Thanksgiving.

I'm sitting at 1/23. You're slightly worse. Come on, USC!

Just to clarify: does CR1 mean that they just read your file, and then it is in limbo until CR2 happens, or is CR1 a continual process?

Do you guys realize how slow USC is? Read the last post I made, like two or three posts up. You will easily be waiting another month until you go under review. It's hard as hell to be patient, though. I understand. Just don't want you guys to have false hope.

Yeah I have realized just how slow they can be. Went complete 11/16, CR1 1/14 and crickets ever since. Oh well, there is always a luggage cart at the back of the passenger train.

HEY USC, ALL ABOARD!

I've been telling people that all over this thread. Doesn't mean that I can't hope for them to move faster!

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
