lol I know. I was expecting them to pamper me and tell me how "great" my numbers and I are, but instead the e-mail kept talking about how amazing THEY are.NYC KID wrote:I mean they didn't even take the time to write address me in the email. It said "Dear Applicant." At least hotmail was intuitive and sent it straight to the junk folder.

come on guys, it's not that bad. think of it as their way of sending you a valentine, lol.
sent them the app an hour ago. i accidentally forgot about them when they first emailed in nov (bad timing since it showed up with penn, duke, and uva). then i thought their apps were closed until that email today.
besides, i heard they offer good money, and worse comes to worse, you can use the acceptance letter as an ego-stroke

Worth it, you'll probably get in, although this late in the cycle, you might not get as much $$$$confusedlaw wrote:wustl fee waiver today worth it to apply? 167 3. 7

I just noticed their 25th LSAT is only 162...I'm well above that at a 166 so maybe I won't get thrown in the garbage right away?

They look to be making a huge push in the LSAT department, and those 162s probably have a 3.9+ to keep their GPA medians respectful.

That's what I figured and why I didn't apply in the first placehoos89 wrote:WUSTL is very splitter friendly so their 25ths are relatively low but all those people are probably over the 75th in the other category.adg156 wrote:I just noticed their 25th LSAT is only 162...I'm well above that at a 166 so maybe I won't get thrown in the garbage right away?

I never understood that, I mean I'm a little under and a little over WUSTL's 50% marks, doesn't that do the same thing to their average as a splitter that's below a 25th and above a 75th? that's not a rhetorical question either, I'm a poli sci major, i really don't know.hoos89 wrote:WUSTL is very splitter friendly so their 25ths are relatively low but all those people are probably over the 75th in the other category.adg156 wrote:I just noticed their 25th LSAT is only 162...I'm well above that at a 166 so maybe I won't get thrown in the garbage right away?

Re: WUSTL c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Unfortunately no. The 75th and 25th numbers are cut offs based on a percentage. Basically, its the difference between an mean and a median, only at points other than the middle. You are averaging you numbers, but you can't compare that to a splitter bc the splitter's numbers are compared by where they stand percentage wise, not average. Hope this helps a little. Good luck!THATSHOWYOUGETANTS wrote:I never understood that, I mean I'm a little under and a little over WUSTL's 50% marks, doesn't that do the same thing to their average as a splitter that's below a 25th and above a 75th? that's not a rhetorical question either, I'm a poli sci major, i really don't know.hoos89 wrote:WUSTL is very splitter friendly so their 25ths are relatively low but all those people are probably over the 75th in the other category.adg156 wrote:I just noticed their 25th LSAT is only 162...I'm well above that at a 166 so maybe I won't get thrown in the garbage right away?

Just got a fee waiver today, very surprising, you usually only hear from TTT's this late in the game, not top 20's. I last took the LSAT in Feb of 2011, so not sure what took them so long. I'm 75th+ LSAT, between 25th and 50th GPA, in case anyone's wondering what range of applicants have gotten waivers.

Me too, last status date is 11/31. Kinda makes me sad I don't even get tribute to a response before they're all like "sigh, let's try to get a few more applicants by e-mailing absolutely everyone who took the LSAT."shroeder wrote:Complete 12/28 and feeling a little left out. Good point. Perhaps they are so occupied with how to increase the applicant pool this cycle that it's slowing down the process? Idk, but yeah, I'm going with that!! Your acceptance is imminent, mine will be along shortly after! (good luck anyway)

Haha thanks! I'm already assuming I'm sitting on a ding e-mail with my 167, but I'd always like a good surprise late in the cycle. Good luck to you too!shroeder wrote:BKCentral wrote:Me too, last status date is 11/31. Got a fee waiver in my email the other day and almost applied, but then reality set in and I realized it would be at sticker in the remote chance I got in and I'd have separate living expenses from my family, so I probably couldn't afford it.
What a beautiful school though. This is probably in my top 3 dream schools.

I got a fee waiver too... for the second time actually. Are they that desperate to reject me? lol

Re: WUSTL c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
I know! I was thinking the same thing. Selectivity numbers must be harder to get as applicants get more sophisticated. I'm below both medians by a fair amount, what would lead them to believe I would be a viable applicant? I have okay softs, but c'mon, there are few softs that will make up 4 LSAT points and .09 GPA. At least outside of URM.Kess wrote:I got a fee waiver too... for the second time actually. Are they that desperate to reject me? lol

That actually isn't THAT bad. Cardozo waitlisted me and I'm below their LSAT and GPA medians by double digits, so I think you'd have a shot.Opie wrote:I know! I was thinking the same thing. Perhaps, but I'd need good money to make that kind of a sacrifice. Especially since the local TTT places better where I want to practice (though that's mostly self-selection).pret wrote:That actually isn't THAT bad. While I am happy to hear all about these fee waivers, has anyone been hearing actual news (Acceptances, Dings, WL). I have been complete for a while and am yet to hear, I'm right on their A/WL line if one looks at the charts on TLS ..... WUSTL would be an amazing fit for me I just really want to hear
